The story about the 13 y/o girl with cancer really shook me because I was 21 when I was diagnosed with cancer. I finished chemo around October and in November found out the treatment had worked. It just so happened that my cousins wedding was also in November. During dinner AT HER WEDDING she got up and gave a speech about how grateful she was for everyone that was there and then looked at me and spoke about how happy she was that I was finally ok. She called me over, we hugged and cried and she gave me the flowers, so I can’t begin to imagine how anyone could be that cruel. The fact that it’s her wedding isn’t an excuse to be such a horrendous monster, that guy should get a divorce.

I loved hearing you didn’t need your husband. I have been married 20 years and feel exactly the same. I had my own life and was self reliant when we married, and still do. Your safety and security as a woman should never depend upon a man wanting to be in your life. If he decides to leave, your whole world will fall apart. So in the midst of a terrible heartbreak, you are also thrown into financial turmoil. Ladies, never let a man have that power! I had a friend who was like the girl who made the speech about how she doesn’t like the bride and her friendship. It was very difficult to be friends with her because nothing I did was enough and she almost treated me like I was her girlfriend. Got jealous and possessive over me. Publicly too. When I got into a relationship she became really bad and my boyfriend didn’t want to cause any trouble in our friendship so he would put himself aside so I could accommodate for her. She viewed him as a fling and felt that she should be a priority. I did pay attention to her quite a lot. Literally so happy to see you guys posting again. I have ADHD and am on the autism spectrum; so I have a lot of trouble focusing on things like cleaning, schoolwork, etc. These videos are my favorite to put in the background that helps me focus - I’m not even sure why it works but ya’ll have a talent 🤷

THT makes me sleeeep. I usually have it on low volume when i'm sleeping with my bf but one time, I didn't and he was listening with me and he said "I finally understand why you love this podcast." And he was reacting to it while our eyes were shut. Lol sometimes, I don't even know that he's listening, but he will suddenly have a side comment. Hahah Thank you!! I don't even know how many times I "rewatched" your videos because I need to listen to them when I'm fully awake. Lol

I’m usually not the biggest fan of the guests you bring on and their opinions, but I loved this episode. I found myself sharing a lot of the same views and she wasn’t over bearing with her opinions to where it shut you out. I would love to see her on here again.

For the one with the maid of honor who gave the "honest" speech, it immediately reminded me of the song "You're gonna live forever in me" The song is how this person/friend will be with you forever and always be with you and there is a line where you might've been in love with them. Lyrics: "and when the pastor asks the pews for reasons he can't marry you, I'll keep my word and my seat but you're gonna live forever in me" The difference with her is she didn't understand that this is a very big deal for her, it's your friend's wedding. I've been in the situation where I've loved someone so much and imagined having to let go at some point even if it hurts. She needs to realize, she's always gonna be her best friend but things change.

yeah. my best friend is currently in her first relationship. it obviously hurts that I don't see her as much, but she is still my bestie.

I wish I wrote in my wedding experience. It was hell from the jump with MIL, she ruined my bridal shower with her nasty attitude, received the nastiest text you could dream of from fiancés GMa accusing me of BS two weeks before the wedding (that i chose a venue that didn’t seat all of his family on purpose), MIL cancelled rehearsal dinner ultimately leading to them being uninvited all together. My wedding experience was nothing but drama and I’ll never get over it. Love the podcast, this is all so relatable and I’m glad to know there’s others out there with similar stories. Thanks Morgan and friends🤍

Just happened to be a bride two weeks ago 🥰. Ask my crew but I was the chillest bride who did almost 100% of preparation herself….. the secret is to have a brilliant maid of honor. The wedding wouldn’t happen without my lovely sis / maid of honor!

Wtf, if my friend gave a speech about how unhappy she was at my wedding we wouldnt be friends anymore. I honestly cant stand one of my best friend’s husband and i hate their relationship, but guess who kept her mouth shut and offered to be the photographer and makeup artist at the wedding? Me. My feelings were irrelevant because i wanted her to have a happy day as a best friend should

I had a lot of empathy for the bridesmaid that felt like her best friend was leaving her behind. She was ABSOLUTELY WRONG to voice it in her speech and make the day awkward for everyone, but I’ve been that bridesmaid. The first wedding I was in was for my best friend since childhood, and directly after the wedding, she was moving several states away to start life with her new husband. I was devastated and cried the entire time. Even when the love is platonic, it’s hard to see the person that has your whole heart walk away. I was young and it was the biggest loss I’d ever experienced. We’re not close anymore, but I hope she didn’t hold the emotions against me.

The best friend story was insane. I was maid of honor for my life long best friend as she married a guy myself and our other friends don't think is good for her. Writing a speech was difficult because 1) im already not a sentimental person and 2) i don't like the guy or their relationship. But I fucking did it and it was the best speech of the night because she's my best fucking friend and that's what you do when you actually love your best friend

Catering / mickey mouse story - I recently attended a wedding where there was no catering. We were told to eat before we got there and all that was really served was water, sweet/unsweetend tea, and the cake. There was also no music, nor dancing, if I'm being honest, it was pretty boring. I'm pretty sure some of the guest flew out to come to the wedding and it was quite a long drive for us. Normally, I'm also on the side of "it's your wedding, you do you", but if you knew some people went great lengths to travel for a big day like a wedding, there would be no surprise that they'd expect to eat. They really were selfish for not having food for us to eat there, especially since you never know what could happen. OP was 1000% TA.

Regarding the friend who made the speech about herself: being a self centred asshole does not equate being on the spectrum. I don't see how she could have hidden this "truth" all throughout the engagement and wedding prep just to lose that ability and suddenly "turn autistic" during the speech. Also, she clearly understands what she is doing is not what's expected judging by her reasoning in the post. She intentionally decided to be honest and uncover her true feelings during the speech. It wasn't lack of social awareness.

The moh who ruined her “bff” wedding with the speech is definitely either on the spectrum or Psychotic. Like she never thought in her life that this friend would put someone before her. Also Morgan said “why isn’t she trying to find herself her person to spend time with?” Well she did but her person won’t spend all their time with her anymore and she doesn’t understand why or how to change that.

The TRAUMA BONDING comment from Hannah is so on point! For the wedding speech friend I have a friend who had a similar attitude. We were so close when I was single because of trauma bonding and then I ended up getting with my boyfriend and when we got serious it all changed. My boyfriend and her had a super short thing years ago that he didn’t want to move forward with before I knew him and then we met and got serious there was soooo much jealousy. She was so put off that I got into a good relationship with him and wasn’t available for her all the time while she was single that she became very cold and would complain that he stole me. It didn’t change till she finally got into her own healthy relationship. I think jealousy is the main motivator in this persons scenario.
