Thank you, Brett and Eddy, for all the awesome content you guys put out! Like, really, thank you... I'm an EFL Teacher in Thailand, and as part of my students' English program I have to teach Music. Guys, I have no musical training. Nada. And the school has no musical resources. Double nada. Last semester was not fun. Then I found Twoset during the holidays. You guys inspired me to write an actually interesting curriculum, get my poop together, and research music 40 hours a day. To teach my kids about Percussion I showed them your Pro vs Beginners videos (and made Nyango Star an answer in their follow up test). I'm actually currently drafting a lesson plan for the Violin... viola's being lumped together with the rest of the Strings section. This Wikihow video has excellent timing - THANK YOU FOR NOT SWEARING, my students are 10-11! Now, Music is the subject I look forward to teaching the most. Much love for that. Korp kun ka.

I see that your school is run by "educators" as opposed to teachers. Keep up the good work, you must be a great teacher to be able to meet that challenge! What does music have to do with learning the English language??? I can understand learning a language through singing songs but not through percussion, rhythm and music theory.

this wiki-how assumes the reader already know what notes, scales, tones etc are. You cannot possibly be a virgin of music and start with this. The whole vocabulary has to be learned and it takes as much time as playing the instrument itself.

Eddy would be good teacher. By autoreading practice time guidelines from the instructions he'll successfully blur the bright shiny excited gazes of kids at their first violin class.

I think they were selvage with the Wiky How instructor. It's not easy to teach online. The videos were there to help understand what its dificult to explain just with words. Why don't they try to use media tools to try and teach how to play violin? I'm guessing they would be bored by the time the violin is taken out of the case! AHAH Seriously: a step-by-step DIY is very hard to do, guys. Quick to watch, much easier to judge but implies a lot of hard work. I'm glad someone put it out there. It can actually help someone. Thank You Wiky pedia :D

In 2019, you can learn how to play online, if you have realistic expectations of what your progress should look like and are reasonably consistent in your practice. KZbin videos, tutorials, and written guides are all available that can be extremely helpful. Feedback is great, but if it's not readily available, at least you can record yourself; generally, when you watch yourself back, you know when your messing it up. Best advice I saw there was practice every day, starting with 15-20 minutes. It's how I've been learning; I don't expect I'll ever rise to the level of an orchestra musician like this, but I'm perfectly content if I can become a half-decent fiddler.

Bass starter kit: “Big violin” Э_Э “are you a cello?” Oh, so your fingers hurt from shifting, eh?? BASS Thicc strings Tons of counting out rests Only half & quarter notes Only having the melody twice in an entire concert Band kids asking if you play the “cello” Violins make fun of you for being smaller that your instrument All the beginner kids play F# like a “plunk”, not a pluck Also in some cases being the only one with a german bow. Now go make music
