"I actually quite like violinists, just not the ones with perfect pitch." --Producer Shawn, the representative of the entire human race
@megnemo64033 жыл бұрын
I have relative pitch and no longer conform to the rest of the classical community.
@megnemo64033 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's kinda hard conforming when you know how to sight read but you just cannot due to four learning disabilities. So I watch Katie Adelson and do whatever bowings I feel like and add a bunch of ornamentals wherever I like. But I'm not selfish I changed a bunch of the tempo and rhythms to some classical music to play with a box drummer in st Augustine once and people really liked it. The reason why two set fail at busking is that they are stiff and are oblivious to street performing culture and schedule. I routinely come out of an hour of busking with 70 to 75 dollars. It usually dosen't pay the bills ( especially when my crv Liberty needs brakes, a battery, an oil change and two back tires in a thirty day period) but it certainly dosen't hurt either. And I'm teaching my handicapped Americana bird and my sultan pullet to play xylophone and then I will teach them keyboard as well
@megnemo64033 жыл бұрын
And it really is a shame that two set don't understand busking culture or scheduling because they are much better technically at violin then me. If they learned busking culture and scheduling and watched Katie Adelson, rob Landres, and Scottish fiddle music they could probably make ten times as much money as I do.

When I was an adult I quit for 20 years after years of abuse by my legal guardians. I mean, they weren’t wrong. Violinists do have a certain “shut up and get out of my way, you filthy peasant” energy to them, especially the first violins. I play the trumpet in a concert band, and we can be a little bit the same way sometimes, but not anywhere near as bad as the violins. As Garrison Keillor once put it, the violins believe that if the conductor died, the rest of the band would just follow them and nobody in the audience would notice any difference, except that they would now have an unobstructed view of the violins.

Ya know you can only be a soloist if you have someone else to be an accompaniment for you. With that attitude I'm surprised anyone would want to do that for you. Yoyo ma is a better musician than most violinists, there are folk musicians of the hurdygurdy and the nickelharpa that have more heart and are more fun to listen to then alot of violinists. do we want violin to become extinct because while beautiful no one can stand it anymore?!?
@ilianatrahan33693 жыл бұрын
@@megnemo6403 It was just a joke to comeback against what the musician said about violinists; all musical instruments should be respected equally ☺️ As a violinist, I am especially grateful towards pianists who play accompaniment for me as well.

@onyxzheng3473 жыл бұрын
It would be kind of hard to do guitar. You need to grow your nails or your sound will be too quiet. The only thing I don’t like about violin is the sound. It’s great with other instruments, but I don’t like it alone. I don’t really know any violinists though, so I don’t know that much

I chose to play the viola because I thought I was too cool to play the violin like everyone else. Little did I know, I was choosing ten years of boring rhythms and longing for the day when a composer tossed us incredibly bored violists the melody. Lol I should have picked the cello. Gorgeous deep tones...and they also get the cool parts.
@mangos_19292 жыл бұрын
I feel the same way lol. But you kinda build resilience and patience when you play the viola(resilience to everyone’s ‘viola jokes’ and patience cuz the parts can be REALLY boring.) But still, I wouldn’t give up viola.
