Nice. I saw a guy do this and the pipe straightened right out. It took all the curves out. Man did that thing look funny on the bike. We wouldn't even ride with him during the day anymore. Thanks

Dings come out much easier with less pressure if you heat the dings and surrounding area with gas torch before you pressurise the pipe.

Water looks good to get the shape back, then as you said use pressure and heat too remove whats left of the dents. Great video.

Did the bent pipes fit properly on the bike after. I have 2 bent pipes and thought I’d try this
@milesaboveu2 жыл бұрын
Don't you just freeze it after you fill with water? The ice will expand and push out the dents.

For finishing off those small dents, maybe try keeping the water pressure up and applying some heat to the area.Or apply heat to the area then apply water pressure.

Lol Heat isnt going to do anything with a pipe full of water.
@MichaelAbramo Жыл бұрын
@@travisk5589 I've been repairing my own pipes with water pressure for a few years now. For small dents, while the pipe is pressurized with water, take a propane torch, apply heat, and tap with a hammer.
@travisk5589 Жыл бұрын
@@MichaelAbramo Still, filling a pipe with water and heating with a torch is the stupidest thing that I have heard this week and maybe even this year. Do you think the heat does anything besides heats up the water? What a waste of time and energy. Put air in the pipe and heat it.

@@MichaelAbramo Does the heat do anything? Does it get hotter than 250 degrees? We both know that it doesnt get red hot.

Sry but that looks like a pain in the ass when heat and air works way better way faster, hell water didn't even pop the dents out completely and yes air will put it back to perfect shape if you heat the right areas.

@bustywolter

The problem is that you're not only taking away the dents.. You're completely reshaping the whole pipe. That's not good. The pipes from factory was designed like that for a reason. And you just reshaped the entire thing.
