Not early 2000's. 2000 along with Disturbed because BOTH bands performed live on the 2nd stage at X-Fest 2000. Powerman 5000 also performed while touring for their followup.

I remember saving up money and skateboarding to the mall to buy spit when it first came out. I saw them at a show in Tucson shortly after and got their autograph, it was awesome. This new song is groovy and the vocals are fantastic. I kept waiting for a fast part to show up and some killer blast beats but they kept it slow and groovy.

lol I LITERALLY bought this album in a CD store, SOLELY BECAUSE of the album cover. (Hot chicks with the name KittiE) and they looked badass. I don’t think I’ve ever done that. As a kid, I watched a crap ton of MTV, whether it was headbanger’s ball, or whatever. I’d go out and buy an album if something grabbed me. It was so crazy to get in my car, put this on and hear "Spit" for the first time, and be completely blown away, sight unseen. Been a fan ever since. Imagine seeing them on TV afterwards, and realizing you made the right choice.

I grew up with nu metal. Still can't figure out what distinguished it from just straight up metal.

@@wizadstick2522 the involvement of hip hop influence, vocal style, turntables, lack of solos etc. Other metal before that.. early Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Pantera was more purer in sound. Nu metal to me at the time felt like a passing trend. I liked early Korn but then grew out of it.

They formed in 1996, three years before My Ruin. Honestly though, other than Morgan from Kittie having a similar vocal timbre to Tairrie from My Ruin in their screams (from what I remember, it's been awhile since I listened to My Ruin), they're pretty different bands with different sounds.
