I've always liked blackened influence, but it took me a while to understand the genre itself. But yes, that album is absolutely fantastic, definitely one I will return to often!

Wolves in the Throne Room is for sure one of my favourite bands. This might be an unpopular opinion but I always thought black metal is at its best when combined with other sounds and genres, because it makes it more unpredictable and interesting while also having the rawness that I like from black metal. Of course I still love straight up black metal and listen to it all the time, but black metal combined with other things has gotta be my favourite.

So, You can visit like Khors, White Ward, NO, 1914, Hell:on, Sectorial or Nokturnal Mortum and slam in safe but there is some little exceptions (m8l8th) where some really racist can make problem.

Funny, I remember buying a ticket to a 'black metal' concert back in 1995, expecting something like Venom, Possessed or (early) Sodom. The kind of stuff I used to listen to as a teenager about 10 years earlier. Headliner was Marduk, goosebumps. Thought black metal had died out, but actually was pleasantly surprised it not only revived, but this new wave of BM had become even more extreme than the music I was listening to at the time (extreme death, grind, etc.). It would become my favourite style of music for the next decade and still listening the stuff like old Dark Funeral, Marduk & Immortal albums from time to time. 🤟😉

"The Eastern European" 😆 Come to think of it, much of the NS stuff I've listened to since the 90s has come from Eastern Europe (Poland was very popular in the late 90s).

I'm more of a metal fan that likes a bit of everything I'm in my own bubble where i listen to whatever I want and I regularly vary myself by talking to others and trying their bands, but musically i enjoy badass riffs aggressive sound but i also like those kinds of metal bands that has that exploring thematic sound with flutes orchestra and stuff like that woven in with growling and nasty riffs too. I like bands that vary their sound with each album so to put it terms that everyone can understand Sepultura and Metallica is bands that are interesting because they varied their sounds.
