My HMs ara: Knocked Lose YWGBYST, Vitriol - Suffer and Become, Aborted - Vaults of Horror, Opeth - TLWAS, Fleshgod APocalypse - Opera My top 5 are: 5: Blood Incantation - Absolute Elsewhere 4. Ingested - TTODAFB 3. Job for a Cowboy - Moonhealer 2. Enterprise Earth - Death: An Anthology Fit for an Autopsy - The Nothing that is For me lyricly and songwise the fit for record was mindblowing, hits me every time I listen to it. So it was a no brainer to put it first place. I never was a huge Knocked Lose fan but this record was awesome so it made my top 5 list. Whatever guys, have a happy and massive new year, I am gonna be here with you for sure! Keep it up

Great year once again guys and thank you so much for doing this, it's much appreciated! Is this the first year that you both had all different albums in your top 5 spots? Coincidentally, my top 5 features none of your picks either haha. I'll for sure check out some of Viles top 5 because some of them I haven't actually heard yet (sorry :D). My 3-5 spots have been changing a lot during the year but ultimately I landed on these. As for 1 and 2, they have been set in stone, completely unchallenged, for what seems like forever. Well, judging by your guy's lists and everyone else here in the comments, my top 5 is quite different. I don't consider them the best releases this year, but they were definitely my favorite/most played of the year, and they are: 5. Red Handed Denial - A Journey Through Virtual Dystopia (they dialed back their heaviness and progressive style and focused more on melody and catchiness with this one, but it was heartfelt and not cheesy) 4. Boundaries - Death Is Little More (they went full balls to wall heavy with this album with some of the best call outs and breakdowns this year had to offer) 3. Knocked Loose - You Won't Go Before You're Supposed to (I mean what else can be said about this album that hasn't already been said. They absolutely killed it this year) 2. Filth - Southern Hospitality (I had zero expectations for this band this year because they never did it for me with past releases, but this album with the direction they went with it had me hype every time I put it on) 1. Diamond Construct - Angel Killer Zero (I admit it took a couple listens to fully grasp what they were doing and going for here because it is jarring at first, but once it clicked, I listened to this album A LOT. 4 of the 5 songs on my spotify wrapped this year were from this album lol)

I personally thought this album was a huge letdown compared to Veleno. Nothing grabbed me like Sugar, Fury or Carnivorous Lamb. I felt like Opera was more focused on the album story than the music itself and it just felt stagnant.
