I test rode the MT09 and Z900 plus others. Suspension Z900 by a mile, MT09 ties itself in knots through the twisties. Plus the z900 has more power, better build and does everything well, plus the mt09 has weird supermoto seating position. Bought a Z900 2018 from new with no regrets.

Clutch its not weird but wonderful! The slipper clutch is the best invention and feature after the ABS, wish it becomes the norm on all street motorcycles.

I love my '18 Z900. Power does come on later in the rev and damn it's fun. and comfortable. Wheelies in 4th without popping the clutch.

I just got a 2018 gsxs 750. But I looked at the z900 and I may have went that route but my kawasaki dealer didn't answer my questions and never got back to me so I moved on. I am very pleased with the gsxs-750 so for. I'm still in the break in period where I have to stay under 5700 rpms. But I can already tell this is one of those bikes I may get into trouble with speed wise!! LOL

Celeste That's a pretty big jump from a 250 to a 900! Where are you guys located (what state)? I know winter is almost done here in Maine. Can't wait to get out and ride again. ;-)

Bah humbug GPZ900R was only available in red/black/silver or blue/black/silver. Gpz1100 same GPX750 red or black GPX1000 red or black Red and black is the traditional kawa colour. I take delivery of my black and mumblegreenmumble ZED900 on friday 😉😁😁😁😁

@@takeshitwowheeltrio7471 A 2009 Suzuki S40 650cc. It may seem like a small, powerless bike, but that is furthest from the truth. Mine is modded and goes 0-60 in around 4 seconds. I've crushed larger cruisers on it. However, I love the look and sound of naked sport bikes, so that is the second bike I would like. Just not sure which one as there are so many.

Finally Got a BRAND NEW Z900 at a local dealer I was able to go sit on and check out. Also a BRAND NEW MT09!? Why the MT instead of the FZ here in America, who knows. But I absoutly LOVE the look and ergonomic of the z900. But I REALLY want it to be kinda close to the fz/mt 09 in power. I like WHEELIES!!!! ACTUALLY, I "LOVE!!!" WHEELIES!!!! LOL. Just need to find a place that has a used one of each so I can test ride and make my decession. Still on the fence, but falling towards the z900 because of its looks and comfort. BEAUTIFUL bike girl!!! And I also really like your 2 fz09 boys. Be safe out there

The FZ series is now MT in America as well now starting 2018.

The FZ is probably gonna give you a more aggressive ride because of its super responsive throttle, but, like you said, the z900 is gonna be more comfortable. Either way, you're gonna have an awesome bike!:D Thanks for the comment!!

Two Wheel Trio I'm still on the fence tho. Cause the fz09 or MT, which is what they have at my local dealer, does have a little more leg room for my long ass legs. Lol. Thanks for the info.

if you are over 185cm (dont know what that is in freedom measurements), make sure to test the higher seat on the Z900. mt09 has a more supermoto like position, while the Z goes more for an active position, to get a better feeling for the front wheel. should your dealer have it, try the mt09-SP with öhllins suspension.

0-60 is the same for both bikes. fz got a inline 3 so its a different ride, but z900 def has the better mid range and top end, plus it has more horsepower and torque so...

Break in first,then it shud be fine. The engine will be properly cooked and all metal bits will be flushed when changing the engine oil.

I haven't ridden the Z900 so I can't comment on its power but if you really want a naked bike with lots of power all thru the rev range from start to finish, but unfortunately they don't sell them in the U.S. anymore so if you can find one used in good shape with lower miles I would definitely check it out.

@@takeshitwowheeltrio7471 mt09 lol. As much as I can appreciate the z900 as a more sensible bike, it just doesn't really have what I look for in a naked bike. I feel like the z900 leans more towards what you would want in a touring bike, consistent power and comfort.

@@Blank_Immortal Nice!!! yeah I love mine! However the Z900 Seriously pulls once you hit the powerband. Just a heads up though unless they changed them for the newer years, the stock mt09 seat sucksssss. The z900 seat while being much smaller is actually alot more comfy. Good luck!!!

Always makes me laugh when people describe the power delivery as 'Linear'. If you actually asked them what it means, they wouldn't have a clue. I've never heard a group of people talk so much shite, it's comical.

Ive been riding bikes for 50 years and still dont know what tyre feedback and compliance is.....must be like modern art, a pile of shit but you must make a contemporary comment.

If you don't know what tire feedback is. You've never pushed a bike to its traction limit. Go to a track.

@@darkventhead581 ive done more track days than enough. Even the gp track in buriram thailand. Ive done over 250000 km over thailands best roads and pushed my bike to the limits. Tried many tyres and still cant tell one tyre from another (unless its a tyre that offers no grip) feed back and compliance are obviously very subjective.

I can tell a difference in slippage consistency between Bridgestone s20 and pilot power3 (just an example). I fail to understand how you're unable to discern any difference with track time and that many road miles.

@@darkventhead581 i suppose the difference being is constant road surface changes from super grippy to shinney surfaces where they transport sugar cane over mountain roads then hard concrete main roads, then tropical rain to add to the fun. I now run mitas sportforce on a cb1000, my tenth set, never an issue and not 'label' priced.
