I’ve got that Mizuno CLK 19* in the Speeder Evo HB 85X and it’s the first hybrid I have EVER been able to hit well, absolutely love it

Michael has done a great job through this process with being under the microscope for all to see and can't wait to see the update after his been able to play a few rounds with the full bag!!!! Lucky guy and congrats to him. I have a feeling Michael will have fallen in love with his hybrid by the time you revisit! For all the reasons you mentioned is exactly where I use mine! 450+ par 4's for second shot in...tee shot on short and tight par 4's...long par 3's and sticking the green in 2 on a lot of par 5's. I added a 3 wood and hybrid to my bag this year during my full bag fitting. First time with a hybrid and hadn't had a 3 wood in about 12 years! Was a little unsure about the hybrid like Michael. Total game changer having those clubs in the bag and dialed in to the proper gapping. Rivaled only by and equally as important as the wedge fitting and gapping. Both were firsts for me and always having the right club to pull for whatever yardage comes up is PRICELESS!

If you get the chance it's well worth it, my wife & I flew from Manc to Toronto last year and had a brilliant week and I split my fitting over 2 half days. We timed the visit for my Birthday in July and it was the best Birthday treat ever!!!!

I really enjoyed the bag fitting. Im looking to get new irons and wedges this year. Then look at fw and driver as i dont really use much more than a hybrid as theres only 15yds to 20yds between hybrid and my driver and no consistency

Your swing will never be the same every time :-) Never too early for a fitting in my opinion. I certainly wish I had started with correctly fit and built clubs. It is quite a commitment of course, but if you really want to keep playing for years to come, then it is worth the investment. Good luck!

Great series with your contest winner. I’m currently playing Mizuno 800 hd irons and I lose a lot of energy into the ground because of my steep swing. Looking at the Ping 210,Mizuno jpx Pro, Srixon 585 and 785 irons all with modus 105 stiff( recommended by Mizuno shaft 3D optimizer. With about 2 degrees flat. I’m a 12 handicap. Which club face would be best for my issues specifically with turf interaction ?

Ian, I am the person you mentioned who has a shallow swing with irons, and hits up on the driver quite a bit. When looking to go into a three-wood, or other type of fairway wood, and a hybrid, what would I need to keep in consideration when doing a fitting?

So on the TXG site it's 800 for the full fitting with Ian, and you're buying the clubs on top of that? So I'm in Seattle. So looks like $560 round trip flights to Toronto + $800 dollar fitting fee + $1300 Mp 20 msrp + $500 Driver + $290 St190 fairway wood + $250 dollar hybrid. + $100 per wedge * 3 = $4000 dollars on the dot! Looks like I know what I'm saving for :)

I’ve just had a substantial iron fitting session, after many club head styles, from all the majors, and various shafts, we’ve arrived at a great combo, but I’m sacrificing distance for launch angle, control and spin. Which worries me. Can you get spin from these new hot face irons? I’ve managed to get to ~7000 rpm at 20’ launch and 158 carry at 83mph, 49’ decent angle. I reckon I’ve lost 10 yds with my 7 iron. I’m now having doubts.

Curious why you didn't try a slightly higher loft in the 3-wood for Michael? I have a very similar swing speed and I have always ended up in more of a 4-wood for better carry but with no sacrifice on total distance. Or maybe you did try that and it just didn't work out for him? Not intending to criticize here of course. Fairway woods have always been tough for me so any insight I can get from videos like this can only help... Thanks as always guys!

Do you normally fit someone with close to the same weight driver and 3 wood shafts? I noticed that his hybrid swing speed, at least on 1 shot, was only a couple of mph slower than his driver swing speed. Is that normal or was that just for that 1 hybrid swing? I also learned today that I need to work on my 3 wood swing because it's not within 20 yards of my driver.
