Even though this player is a better player than me, his negative attack angle swing tendency is similar to my swing. I play the ai smoke 3 wood so the little tips Ian gives gives me some insight to why it may work for me and what to try going forward. Lot of people complain when the better players are fit and don’t represent the average golfer. But you can still learn from it.

Really fascinating to see the progression. With someone as good at ball striking as Chris it was easy to see what little changes can do. Wish my good strikes were as consistent as Chris’s misses.

Great video ! Would have loved the follow up on 7wd hybrid etc and how it progressed. Especially for a great ball striker I would have loved to see hybrid/ uw/ 7wd options

Great fit, great ball striking. All this dude does is pepper the green from 230 yards away. Goes to show that you don't have to be a bomber to be a top 1% golfer-though Chris is certainly long enough for his age. Chris's swing weirdly reminds me of Jordan Spieth's, especially in the follow-through.

Interesting fit with a very good player. There’s a skill in a good fitting to try and bring it to a conclusion in the allotted time and before fatigue sets in. There could have been 5 different heads and 50 shaft options to try but fitter needs to get to the point relativity quickly. (Unless your a sponsored tour pro then you can have a fitting that lasts a week ! 😂)

I'm exactly the same way. I carry my PW 130 and can get 140 out of it. My carry with a 3w is like 200 though because I just can't get height. Found a bit of success with 4w-7w-9w replacing 3w-3i-4i but still only really hit 4w off the deck if I have room to let it roll.

Interested to hear whether you have any guide or rule of thumb of grip size - glove size. I wear a XL glove and play midsize grips and they even still feel small, is it likely I would benefit from jumbo max grips?

great video lots of knowledge and insight from ian. chris is a great subject to watch improvements. ok so zfter the many options he improved a bit on distance and mostly benefited from the dispersion and control. ok i know this doesnt make business sense but from a consumer saving perspectives was it the head or shaft that gave these resukts abd benefits. He had a tsi head what would the difference hv been. economic approach law of diminishing returns

Great stuff here. He's gaming Modus 120 shafts in xtra stiff flex in his irons? Seems like a lot for his speed, transition, and age. Also, fascinating to see someone hit baby draws with an out to in swing. I'm seeing his face is closed to target, so I'm wondering what his face angle is to his path to get those draws. Seems like he'd be hitting a pull fade.

The modus x120 xstiff is a very interesting shaft. It’s really similar in stiffness to a DG S300. I have a little bit faster swing speed than this guy but also got fit into them.

I don't think I've ever seen someone hit a 230-240yd fairway wood so effortlessly. Just smoothing one out there shot after shot. We need Chris in the bay more for club testing, as his consistency and speed seem really matched up with a lot of what you guys test.

Just wondering if the rest of the fit was with the left dash ball after he tried it ?? if so should he of not hit his 7iron at least with the Left dash to see if there was a issue, spin etc. I would not want to change the ball I play to help my 3 wood which you might only use once or twice a round if it effects my irons in a negative way , I would just want to find the best head and shaft combo that works the best with the ball I was fit for with my irons.

Went from a strong 3 wood standard length to a chopped down 4 wood. Strong 3 wood was always inconsistent with a 290 ball with a pure strike. 4 wood average was 255 total

It's a ton about delivery. I'm a 48 year old 5 handicap and I have an out to in swing path so I often struggle with misses being high and spinny. For example, if I'm playing into even the slightest breath of wind a 7 wood goes absolutely nowhere.

​As a fellow left hander, im very curious on what driver and 2 iron details that you ended up with for this fitting as well. You know that we are persecuted with a lack of options for our stance beliefs! I'm over 115 MPH for my driver, so even tougher to fit for shafts. Thanks.

​@jordanbaker3175 I was fit in December for my driver. I bought a Ping LST 430 and wanted a shaft for only this head so didn't try any others. It came down to the Vanquish Stiff 50 and the BGT Brava S . I have both shafts. Haha. Vanquish higher ball flight for carry. Brava more mid piercing. So Brava summer shaft. Vanquish winter shaft.
