Beautiful pattern, Mr McPhail. I have been tying flies for 45 years...another 45 may not be long enough to compare with your mastery of the art. Thanks for sharing.

Any difference between this tie and the McPhail Caddis Pupa you tied in Sept 2019?
@DavieMcPhail

Hi @anablakp3200, It is a different pattern as this one fished close to the surface and the McPhail Caddis Pupa is normally fish deeper though I have tyed a version of the grannom in the McPhail Pupa style which works really well too.. All the very best Davie

Hello Davie... Watching this again and caught your mention of having a blend you used prior to having the Fulling-Mill dubbing. If you would, what was that blend mix? Mike

I am constantly amazed how every pass of the thread is exactly placed. The whip finish on this video is a perfect example. you laid every turn in a precise location and it came to life when it was freed from the bobbin. I try to mimic, knowing it'll be sloppy - I'll fish even the lumpy caddis pattern!
