@@jasong9502 We all knew. Everyone in the sport knew. It was the dirty little secret. Only the brave stepped forward. Steve Swart, Emma O’Reilly, Betsy and Frankie Andreu. Even Greg Lemond spoke up and took the hits. And you’re right: everyone else went along with it to save their jobs. It happens in every industry as he points out here about a third of the way in. Red Eggs.

That's a lie. Anyone can be a Top national time trialist or crit rider with no team. And just work a part time job. Doping doesn't work. And lots of amateurs have amazing wattage. The only problem is, electric motors are everywhere now. It's like nascar or formula one - it's not about the fastest rider.

Tyler is charismatic. I like listening to him and it doesn't bother me he cheated for years during his time at US Postal. However, what I find interesting, and what I think bothers me on some level, is he seems to be making a fairly decent living talking about being a cheat. Being a liar and a cheat is still lucrative even when the game is done. It just serves to show there is no natural justice and even no real human justice for that matter.

Additionally, and Im not saying this justifies it, but if you refused doping, Lance would fire you. So a lot of folks were honest and are dead broke. I also see what you are saying, however Tyler's story is somehow one of the best example about coming clean. As he mentioned he did it because he was subpoenaed, nevertheless thanks to him the omertà rule has been broken, leading to an insightful view of the racing world. He was a cheater, and people will remember him as such. On the other hand, it is very honorable from him to talk about it. Younger generations must understand what was wrong (and probably still is...) in the professional cycling world. After all, cycling dope is an addiction and prevention is better then cure. Would love to know how many other doped cyclist are there in the world doing what he's doing. I'm sure he is one of the few to have the dignity to admit he did the wrong thing.

People talk about what a great racer Lance Armstrong was. But before he took EPO, and when he raced clean, he never made it higher then 35th and placing and typically road in the middle of the pack. He did not have the build or VO2 max to be a great rider clean. So taking EPO gave him an unfair advantage over other riders, and EPO has better impacts on some than others. It doesn't affect everyone the same. So while he was a hard worker and driven, he had an unfair advantage. And he was a liar.

The doping scheme was really run like your typical gang; a strict hierarchy and many unwritten rules. If you are not in you will soon be out. Lance turned into the godfather of doping after 98 when teams left it up to the riders. Lance found new ways to stay ahead of all the tests. He bullied clean riders and messed up this man who I have watched tow the biggest fraud over many miles of french roads.

I believe he would say NO. Then I would ask, Lance Armstrong and your team made tens of millions and millions of dollars for so many people, The Post Office, Sponsors, Bike manufacturers, Bike Shops, all the biking Gear Manufacturers and all the stores that sell it, Lance Armstrong and the Team made biking a cool sport, you guys made it insanely popular, rumors are that the organizations in charge of the Tour looked the other way about doping. Plus LiveStrong raised 500 MILLION DOLLARS for cancer suffers...so why is Lance Armstrong carrying the biggest burden and penalty of doping?

Unfortunately business is the bottom line of everything- it all pends down to the question: How can we make the most money from this? Sports might be entertaining, but nobody works, or in this case plays, for free- and ultimately there's no point in putting in as much time as it takes to be a professional athlete if you aren't putting asses in the seats and making a certain amount of money- you have to meet that quota- and unfortunately the best way to do that is to take your top players, pump them full of something that'll give the fans and world something REALLY worth paying attention to and paying for, and presto: You've got a cash cow. It benefits everyone- the players make more money, the owners make more money, and the fans remain satisfied- everyone wins- even it's a giant stinking lie. Does it sound insanely awesome that a guy could win one of the toughest races in the world 7 times? Of course it does, but the point is: It sells. Money makes people do unbelievably crazy shit- and this is just another example of that.

The new dope is Electric motor's inside racing bikes Watch Froome accelerating downhill away from the motor cyclists following He does this because he cannot be checked going downhill - it's too fast It can be checked with infra red cameras uphill but not downhill Its too fast to follow by camera
