As other comments have pointed out, ceramic blades are actually pretty good. Some are definitely sharper than others, and they're a little bit more brittle than metal so they'll chip as opposed to wear down if they start getting old or if they're handled really roughly. We've had one ceramic blade especially good for cooking that hasn't dulled whatsoever in the years we've had it. I actually do recommend getting some for cooking. They're good all-around knives
@Tw3akst3r2 жыл бұрын
Additionally, when using ceramic blades as opposed to metal blades and cutting fruits and vegetables, you don't get the browning in the same way that you would when using metal blades.
@shaneh75192 жыл бұрын
As a professional chef I absolutely would not recommend ceramic knives, even for a home cook just simply due to the fact they are far more brittle and you cannot sharpen them. Being brittle is more than just a don’t drop it issue. Because it is brittle, it means you are limited in what you can cut. I wouldn’t recommend cutting any hard cheese, bones, hard root vegetables, etc with a ceramic knife.

I used a couple of those little drill screwdrivers exactly like that in the oil change I manage, they lasted for years and were put through extremely heavy service both on top and underneath cars at least 20-30 times a day. It was very surprising
@ralphllivrah95512 жыл бұрын
Do they last longer on top,or bottom?
@StreetForged Жыл бұрын
What would the benefit to that be over a regular impact driver? I'm assuming you use them for skid pan bolts and such? I dont recall ever needing a non conventional drill on any of the auto projects I've done and I build track cars and do a lot of custom fabrication. Space can get tight but a 90° adapter and driver extensions typically do the job
@ProlificInvention Жыл бұрын
@@StreetForged The benefit was they were lighter, fit in a pocket, had a built in "revolver magazine" that held common bits we use on skid plates on bottom (T15.. T20, T25, T30, 7mm, 8mm Phillips, flathead) we do keep an impact handy for certain tougher skidplates such as on Toyotas and such, but the majority are basically fiberboard with many t30 fasteners into plastic screw mounts which you don't want to overtorque at all. Same thing up top-most bits were in the revolver magazine for the many styles of air filter bolts usually in plastic you don't want to overtorque on.
@StreetForged Жыл бұрын
@@ProlificInvention good thinking, I can see how that can help save some time and headaches. I LOVE SLICE! I had a job that gave box cutters for cutting flaps off boxes, but they had this shield on the top that grabbed on to a panel and slid up and nailed my wrist. (Cut my left wrist holding the flap with my left and cutting away from my body with my right hand) I've been so paranoid of blades since, and went to Slice right after and after feeling the blade with my thumb I was stoked to see how easy it cut. I think that shield on the razer was for cutting all flaps off of closed boxes, but you'd have to pull them towards you...Otherwise the blade would slide away before cutting the whole flap anyways.
