Dude be careful, I saw my first Babymetal video about this time last year, as a 48 Yr old musician from the UK, I have to tell you, you are in for a wild ride, I've spent so much money on this phenomenal band in the last 12 months, I actually have another dvd arriving from Japan today, never disappointed. From the cuteness to some of the best musically perfect performances, these three girls and their incredible band have rocked 2022 for me. Enjoy the foxhole man. It just keeps getting deeper. Great reaction. You are absolutely right about their crowd control, it is second to none - and consider in this show Su was 16 the day before, Yui and Moa were still only 14. No, they don't have crowd instructions or whatever it is they do in K-Pop. What happens is the choreo. Their choreographer (Mikiko Mizuno or Mikikometal) has said how when they started the producer (Kei Kobayashi or Kobametal - a life long metalhead himself) would tell her "the crowd will want to jump here, pump their fists here, shout here" and so on, so in her choreo she would have Yui and Moa lead the crowd (in Japan what they do is called 'ai no te') doing what the producer had predicted ... and he was right every time. On how they and their music have evolved - Yes 'Doki Doki Morning' was their very first song and, like 'Gimme Chocolate' the metal and the kawaii are very distinguishable ... but 'Headbanger' predates 'Gimme Chocolate' by about 18 months, so they have been making the blend of metal and kawaii (or whatever other style) more obvious or more seamless depending on the song and not on when it was released. Having said that the second song they played live was a power metal song - the release of that one was held back a bit in favour of releasing a song that broke all the rules, possibly to make the point they would not be pigeonholed or restricted to just one genre. I can't wait to see your reaction to that song - it is called 'IINE' (pronounced ee-neh - it is not Line - and it means 'so good' like a thumbs up emoji👍).

Yui spends most of the time on Su's right and Moa on Su's left, but its not static as they interchange throughout most songs/routines so its not a good way to tell them apart. The name BABYMETAL is based on the band being a new type of metal, a “baby” Metal - not because they were young. You should check out Road of Resistance next. If you like epic crowd control, this is the one for you! I can’t believe they were 16/15/15 at the time. Unbelievable.
@AldoGuerraALDO-METAL Жыл бұрын
Actually it's a play on words in Japanese. The words heavy and baby are similarly written when written in katakana. Heavy=ヘビ Baby=ベビ Thus heavy metal becomes baby metal with just adding accent marks on he. Heavy metal= ヘビーメタル Baby metal=ベビーメタル It later became the meaning of a new genre. But originally it was just a play on words.

Easiest way to tell, aside from Moa's dimples and Yui's chubby cheeks, is the hair, Moa's is brown in bright light and has neater curls. Yui's is naturally wavy, and has puffier curls and more volume, and a little wild, not neat like Moa's. Some will tell you that Yui has a glove on her right hand and Moa one on her left, but they change that up sometimes. The story behind the gong. There is a metal group from the 80s/90s named X-Japan, sort of like the Metallica of Japan. Their drummer, Yoshiki, the elder statesman of metal these days. Anyway, he cracked some vertebrate in his neck and had to wear a neckbrace while playing, which is where the neckbraces come from. X would play long concerts, and Yoshiki would signal the end by striking the gong, and then collapse from exhaustian. Here they are doing an homage to X. One of many. This is an older song than Gimme Chocolate. The first song was Doki Doki Morning, the second song was Ijime, Dame, Zettai, a really forward heavy powermetal song. As you surmised they were not sure how it would be received, they performed it live but it was a while before they released it, years even. The third song had a lot of pop elements, and is called ii-ne.Ii-ne was their second song released.

Moa has that signature smile with a pair of dimples that has the same magical effect as Su's eyes. Yui is the one who looks like a porcelain japanese doll right from the package she is also the more quite one, Moa is the goofy spunky one who is always hungry and is featured here using the smoke gun the most. The band Pronounced Ka mee japanese well shinto, kami meaing gods. The bonus with this video is Pokémon in the crowd its like a game of wheres waldo. The crowd control comes from the cheerleaders giving the crowd directions the Japanese crowds does this level of interaction, but if you dont know the culture and language singals the other crowds in other countries copy what theyve seen before or just rock out to the awesomeness! Thanks for coming back with this suggestion, you did a great job with the pronunciation of the girls name. Kami it pronounced like you said in the first place. MoaMetal got the dimples, YuiMetal is more like a chubby cheeks similar to Squirtle. Another great reaction, and just like you saw the party on BM live concerts is wild, especially with this song becoming super fun into something like a cult.👀 Like i said in my previous comment you're arriving to a special time coz they've been releasing since 2 months ago their new singles, 2 already out and 3 more coming next year, along with a live performance and album release, they will come back to this same venue you're just watching, Makuhari Messe is the name of this huge japanese convention center located outside of Tokyo in Chiba Prefecture. Another important thing on December 20 was SuMetal b-day and this concert was held the day after, so almost 9 years ago, time goes by. Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! is one of BM fans favorite and got special meaning too. Song is about a 15 years old girl celebrating her birthday going to her first live concert, probably metal, while having melancholy for leaving her childhood behind. Isn't about any of our girls but they embraced this song like it was made for them, you'll find many special versions of this, even when they celebrate their 20th Birthday. 15 is an important coming of age for Japanese girls, 20 is another important date. This was at Legend 1997 (that's the title of this live concert referring to SuMetal birthyear) in 2013 celebrating SuMetal 16th Birthday, and the whole concert was special, if you want to know the rest of the songs finishing this, those are: - "Akatsuki" Unfinished Version, a beautiful SuMetal solo version with only a piano behind, the original song is a power/speed metal balad - "Babymetal Death", be ready for this insane ending, The live concert and also this song got plenty of tributes to greatest metal bands, like Metallica and X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, the gong at the end is one of those, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore. The official MV is also creepy for some fans, I guess the organ gave that effect, you'll also see the neckbrace there for the first time which is a tribute to Yoshiki from X-Japan. Another thing that is not seen much here, when they do live performances, is when YuiMetal and MoaMetal have fun with the cryo or smoke gun, in the original choreography in this part they get on their knees and do the "dogeza hedoban" that it is a movement with the arms outstretched as they lean back and forth, as if praising and summoning the spirit of metal represented by the neckbrace while SuMetal stands with the microphone raised and her relentless death stare, that is another moment we call -NotACult- 👀 The Kami Band here are insane set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, "kami" means roughly "god", they're wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint to represent those spiritual entities. They rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarrists). They are: - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. (R.I.P.) - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums tracks. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. You can see at the end (when SuMetal is crawling upstairs) his head got written "Happy Birthday". - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. I would love if you can go with the rest of the songs of this special live concert but if you want another song that ranks high as a favorite you can watch: - _"Karate"_ live at Download Festival 2016, you can find a clip safe to react at "kitsune6001" channel, also the MV is pretty good but is heavily blocked so take precautions. Or: - _"Ijime Dame Zettai"_ live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 official, just take precautions putting some filters to avoid being blocked. Keep coming back with more BM songs and enjoy the ride into the Foxhole. See you next time!🦊🤘🔥

This was their second single released after Doki Doki Morning. Babymetal started in 2010 and didn't release their first album until 2014. Between 2010 and 2014, they only released singles which were included in the Sakura Gakuin albums released due to Babymetal actually being a subgroup of the main idol group Sakura Gakuin. 2014 and the release of their first album was officially when they became their own group away from Sakura Gakuin. These singles also contained B sides. So popular songs like Akatsuki, Uki Uki Midnight, Death, Catch Me If You Can, and others are all B sides. Singles released in this order: 1. Doki Doki Morning (no B side)2011 2. Kiba of Akiba collaboration cover of Kimito Anime Ga Mitai or Answer for Animation With You (B side: Iine. That's Iine with two i's, not Line. いいね= i i ne.)2012 3. Headbanger (B side: Uki Uki Midnight)2012 4. Ijime Dame Zettai (B side standard version: Catch Me If You Can Limited version: Babymetal Death)2013 5. Migitsune. Pronounced Meh ghee tsu neh. (B side standard version: Akatsuki. Limited version: Onidari Daisakusen)2013 6. Gimme Chocolate (no B side) 2014 Note: All singles were released in Sakura Gakuin albums "Message" in 2011, "My Generation" in 2012, after they released singles independent of Sakura Gakuin. Babymetal released their first album in 2014 and was comprised of all previously released singles and b sides. It was later released in 2015 with the added single Road of Resistance. Note 2: There are other songs not mentioned here as they were not released as singles or b sides. They are Yon No Uta or Song 4, and Rondo of Nightmare. One song not included in the first album but was later released in their second album is No Rain No Rainbow, first performed in June of 2014 for the Legend 1999/1997 concerts. Released in 2015 on their second album Metal Resistance.

Dont worry too much about the pausing. We, The One, are very used to it as Amuse (which you've learned), is very strict. You will come to learn that EVERY song of Babymetal is VERY different from one another. You have Rap-metal (which is also known as Rapple) in the form of BxMxC, you have Traditional Japanese music combined with metal (Megitsune)....incidentally, I'd recommend a Japanese band called Wagakii Band (I'd highly recommend this, kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqDRhZV6ebKMoNk as your first try. VERY cool). You have Hip-Hop/Metal (Iine - That is a capital i followed by a smaller i, not an L. So it's pronounced EEnay). You have southasian metal (Shanti, Shanti, Shanti), Irish Jig metal (Meta Taro), and you have other stuff like powermetal (Road of Resistance). I HIGHLY recommend you watch Road of Resistance soon. The level of Crowd Control is next level in that one. I would HIGHLY recommend this version, kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIWoioh8nLGpm7s which is the live in Japan version. Regardless what you choose, you're in for a good time. There ARE some songs which are best viewed in a specific order. So headbanger, which you just reacted to is part of a 3 part group of songs. Headbanger was the first song in the trilogy of Death. The second song is called Akatsuki Unfinished. I HIGHLY recommend you watch that next since you just reacted to Headbanger. Lastly, you have Babymetal Death! as the last song of the Trilogy. Seeing as you said Headbanger is super heavy, you're going to love Babymetal Death! So that is the first Trilogy Babymetal has. The story behind these songs is headbanger is all about a 16 year old girl going to her first metal concert, thats the main take away from this song. The second song (this one I'm not too sure I'm correct in, but the fanbase leaders will correct me if I'm wrong and say what is actually is :) ), Akatsuki Unfinished is Suzuka Nakamoto, the pop idol singer (Su-metal when she isn't in her metal form) having second doubts about going down the path she is about to go down. Again, I'm not 100% sure I'm correct in this one. I'm a little new still as well, so I'm still learning. The last song in this trilogy, Babymetal Death! is Suzuka Nakamoto being reborn as Su-metal. The goddess of metal that we all love. So that is the first trilogy. In 2018, Babymetal went through a dark period, both figuratively and actually. The lead guitarist, Mikio Fujioka (RIP we miss you dearly) died after falling from an observation deck while stargazing. To make matters worse, Yuimetal had developed medical problems and was told by her doctor that she should not perform with Babymetal anymore until her conditionwas corrected. In the end Yui decided to quit the group to get healthier again and then pursue other dreams which she has not really made too clear. It is believed that this next trilogy was in honour of Mikio, and to an extent Yui as well. The three songs for this Trilogy in order are Starlight, Shine, and Arkadia. They are pretty much songs that go through the phases of grief for all intent and purposes. That is a big reason why it is suggested to react to these ones in order as well. Personally, Shine is one of my all time favorite songs from Babymetal, Akatsuki Unfinished and No Rain, No Rainbow are also pretty close to the top as well. But when you react to Akatsuki Unfinished, you'll see what I mean when I say Su can control your emotions (just like Mori like I said previously. If you want to see Mori do that, react to Could you be Messiah, kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWjJkmqvf5mWoa8 again... tissues lol), No Rain, No Rainbow also is a bit of a tear jerker, depending on the version you watch. The version that was suggested to you is the more emotional version. This song is VERY important to Su. I'm not sure anybody REALLY knows why, but she has never been totally satisfied with how she has performed it. She's only performed it a handful of times and has stated in the past that she isn't happy with it yet as she feels she isn't mature enough yet to perform it to the level that it deserves. Although she is more comfortable performing it now more as when she performed it in Hiroshima I think I read somewhere that she was happy after singing it because she saw people in the front few rows crying from her performance. This told her that she is finally getting to the point she wants to get to with that song. Anyhow, I've rambled on long enough and created enough of a wall of text for you to go through. As I said before, thank you for reacting to this amazing band. You'll also learn once you read through their lyrics that MANY of their songs have a positive meaning behind them. Some ARE songs that are just for fun (Gimmie Chocolate being one of those), and most have a good meaning behind them. So even though Su has stated she doesn't really care of people understand the lyrics because she wants people to FEEL the music, it is still good to understand later on because it shows how good these girls are and what they are trying to do for the world in their own way.

Her smile is amazing - I read so much relief and thankfulness out of it. Going in front of a huge crowd, not knowing how they will react, and having them beg for more after the end of the set, it must have been a very important experience for them. The concert at Sonisphere was Babymetal's breakthrough to the western world. After Gimme Chocolate went viral, they were invited to play on a side stage, but that was later changed to the main stage. The crowd there had a reputation of being nasty to bands they don't like, including throwing bottles, so the girls were very nervous about the show. Plus, the biggest part of the audience there had never heard of Babymetal before. The girls delivered, though. You can see them catch the audience's hearts during the show, and also how the girls get more and more comfortable. Like Su asking the audience to sing along in Japanese in the second song already, up to creating moshpits in the final, Ijime, Dame, Zettai. Still makes me feel immensely proud of them every time I see IDZ. Edit: I also think that this show at Glastonbury in 2014 ultimately opened up the gates to western metal audiences not only for Babymetal, but also paved the way for all the other Japanese metal bands we are experiencing today, like Nemophila, Band-Maid, Lovebites etc. In my opinion, Sonisphere 2014 (or Babymetal's show there, to be exact) really changed the western metal landscape.

The "Legend 1997" refers to Su-Metal as she was born in 1997 and the concert was in late 2013 to celebrate Su's 16th birthday (the bass player has "Happy Birthday written on his head"). It also celebrated the transition of Babymetal from a sub-group of Sakura Gakuin performing to pre-recorded backing tracks to a separate metal act incorporating the Kami Band. They actually started the show with an ironically mimed dubstep/Broadway version of Headbanger called "Night of 15 Mix". Check it out to see BM not taking themselves too seriously. From this show they would go on to tour Europe in 2014 and have international success at 2014 UK Sonisphere. The fan base has lots of names for the members of Babymetal, many of them from their time as members of Sakura Gakuin...for Yui examples would be Mizuno Yui, Yui-chan, Yui-Metal, Princess of Dance etc. Headbanger is a bittersweet coming of age tale of a 15 year old girl taking the subway to a concert and getting lost in the experience and the mosh pit. She realizes that such moments of freedom will be fewer as she becomes an adult and she vows to remember the night. The other two girls. Moa and Yui, have taken the lead on the song to celebrate their own birthdays. Here are some more recommendations. "Headbanger Night of 15 Mix" as an insane alternate universe version of what you just reviewed; "Unfinished Akatsuki" Su sings this solo next in this concert from where she hit the gong. It will show you BM's range and how they can emotionally manipulate an audience; "Road of Resistance -Live in Japan" because it's just an awesome group performance.
@Icipher353 Жыл бұрын
When you're looking at them on screen, their default positions are Yui on Su's left and Moa on Su's right, unless a particular choreography calls for them to move. The tip for telling them apart is that Moa has dimples and her hair has a slightly brown tinge to it, whereas Yui's is pure black. Babymetal's crowd involvement is second to none, and is one of the things that sets them apart from almost any other band. The secret ingredient is Su's unmatched ability to command a crowd. She can command the crowd for form a circle pit simply by waving her hand in a circular motion, or open a wall of death by spreading her arms. The essence of Babymetal is the melding of the J-pop aesthetics with heavy metal and somehow making it work. That moment you go from "Wtf?" to "Why do I like this?" is the moment that they've got you and you're hooked, and from that point on you are a kitsune. There is really nothing like them in all of music, and it is that uniqueness that makes them so remarkable; there is very little in popular culture that is unique these days, but Babymetal manages to continue to be a one of a kind even after 12 years.

Good reaction. One of the most representative features of Babymetal is that each of their songs is different. So that you can fully appreciate this feature, I recommend you watch BabyMetal Death Legend 1997. And when you see it, think that the videos of Gimme chocolate, Headbanger and Death that you have seen belong to the same concert

Great reaction, my friend! The next obvious song, as you mentioned, is "Road of Resistance"...which I think you will be totally into as well. I will be 60 in a couple weeks, and when I first heard this band around 2018 I did not know what the hell was going on! It did not take me long to realize how special the Babymetal phenomenon really is. As a follower of Metal since the 70's, I can honestly say that they have reinvigorated the Metal scene for me. I was really starting to get "boring" and nothing new seemed to be out there...then Babymetal rolled into my life, and there is now no looking back. I think you will enjoy the ride as well! Kitsune up!

They intentionally made Yui and Moa look very similar in appearance, kind of a goth/metal version of the twins from The Shining, but once you get to know their faces, it's very easy to know who's who. Also, in many shows and appearances after this, Moa wears a glove on her left hand, and Yui on the right. Some will say it alternates, but there were only one or two instances where they had switched hands, but that was early on, and for every time after that, it was always Moa left glove, Yui right glove.
@HaydenSmithElevate Жыл бұрын
You can tell Moa and Yui apart when you get a decent look at them both together Yui has rounder cheeks Moa has a more pointed jawline and dimples when she smiles Their default formation is usually Yui on the left, Su in the middle, and Moa on the right, but their choreography sends the girls all over the place 😄 Loved that you did Headbanger, one of their greatest songs One of the other big videos of theirs is "Road of Resistance - Live in Japan" huge anthemic closer to their concerts and one of the most impressive and captivating live performances in the history of music honestly

Let's just say Gimme Chocolate is one if not the most polarizing song. If you got over it, you're just good to go for the rest of it. They cover so many genres, there's something for everyone. Yes the mix that should not work but does. So first their stage names SU-METAL, MOAMETAL and YUIMETAL (spelt and capitalised). SU-METAL is one of the very best stage performers I have ever seen. This woman OWNS a stage I have rarely ever seen even with big name performers - and she does it usually using a circle of less than 20 feet the whole night! Even when a young teen she was always in control (you can watch once you know her and see she is always aware of where she and Moa/Yui are at any moment plus the band and you can see her see her signal the off stage crew to make tiny adjustments in real time). She is stern, imperious and cold 99% of the time and then at moments Suzuka peaks out and smiles. Yui and Moa are the heart - the link to the fans. Moa especially has smile and a way with crowds that make us love her (in fact her official title is the Angel of Love. Yui is the Angel of Dance). Early on we all have trouble telling the two apart. The easiest is most of the time Moa stands stage left and wears a single glove on her left hand, Yui stage right and glove on right hand. Later they dropped the gloves but it is a good starter. Yui has black hair and a lighter curl, Moa is brown haired and her twintails are tighter. Moa is also slightly stockier in their mid teens. And yes attending a BM concert is most like a live Rocky Horror Show in that the audience parts are known by fans. We single along with Moa (and Yui) NEVER Su. There are call and response sections and even routines we do (for example PA! PA! YA! we bring and wave towels.) And if you want to see them own an audience in 2016 they did two sold out nights in Tokyo Dome (that is 55,000 people per night) and they are in essentially something the size and shape of the old Houston Astrodome

I had to take a minute and respond to your reaction as it is common among people experiencing their music. As I share your excitement so many of your observations were so on point with what I think every time I watch one of their videos. I only discovered them about 9 months ago but I thought I would try to answer some of the questions that you were asking as I understand them. Moa and Yui were originally paired because of how much they look alike. But as one gets to know them better you start to recognize them. Moa is usually on the right (as we see them) but not always. Moa has the big dimples and Yui has the cutest chubby cheeks. However, Yui had to leave the band a few years ago due to health conditions. Su and Moa continued by themselves for a bit until they began cycling through 3 or 4 other girls to fill the spot left by Yui. The Kami band is one of the most incredible bands I have ever seen. They are all incredibly talented and seem to me to be some of the best of the best studio musicians available. I'm sorry I don't know names yet, but the guitarist on our left, at some point a couple years ago had some sort of accidental fall, I believe, and he anded up passing away due to complications. I love this band and could talk about them for hours, but I'll finish up by suggesting some of the songs (videos) that I find to be my favorites; Catch Me if You Can, Road of Resistance, Distortion, Karate... It would be hard pressed to say my absolute favorite but one possibility might be "Line". That song contains about 4 or 5 different genres rolled up into one. Any way, God bless on your channel (which I will be checking out more in the near future. You have a new subscriber. Paul.

Another great reaction, glad you've found Babymetal and enjoying them :) They're definitely one of a kind, shame to miss out on them. As for knowing who's who ... best thing, IMO, is to get to know the girls better thru interviews, guest appearances, earlier works (Sakura Gakuin), they're all such sweethearts. There's also several Babymetal guide you can dive into - might want to split/make two videos since they're pretty long - but really worth the watch, and you know for sure we'll be there watching it with you - and no worries about pausing often, it is a reaction video, love hearing your take/opinion :) Part of the reason what makes these girls (and the Kami band) great is that they bring it every single performance - the love and passion they've put into every song is just unreal. They're young, but a seasoned vet by this time. All the best for your channel and in learning Korean, 잘보세요! cheers!

There is a BABYMETAL guide created by CrypticMisery on KZbin if you're curious to learn more about the group. It's very informative and also a bit entertaining. I think quite many would enjoy a reaction to it and I would say it's better than reading bits and pieces scattered in comments. Speaking of crowd control, I love the moment at Metal Galaxy Day 2 when Su just slowly spun her finger to stir a growing whirlpool in the crowd. It was during their song Distortion and I also love the performance of it at Download Festival 2018 when she asked the crowd "Show me big circle!".

You must react to songs from the main group they were originally a subunit of, Sakura Gakuin. Sakura Gakuin are a middle school themed Japanese idol group. They perform and sing songs having to do with school life, lessons, friends, school subjects, etc. And just like an actual school, they have extracurricular clubs. These "clubs" are separate singing sub groups within the main group. With themes like cooking club(Mini Pati), baton club (Twinklestars), homemaking (Sleepiece), Science club (Logica), and others including the heavy music club (Babymetal). Here are some suggestions for Sakura Gakuin songs to react to: Yume Ni Mukatte, My Graduation Toss, Song for Smiling, Ganbare, Animal Rhythm, Heart No Hoshi. And also subunits Mini Pati with their song Miracle Patiful Humburger, Twinklestars - Please Please Please. I honestly think you will love it and become a fan. Plus it will give you a whole new perspective of the BABYMETAL girls and their origins.

Great reaction, thanks! Let me say this first: down the Fox Hole you go, head first! 😁 Don't worry, no one is able to distinguish Yui from Moa based in only two videos (and from the same concert in your case). Their twin look was totally intended. Yes, they are black belt on crowd control and this performance is like a masterclass. Actually Yui and Moa have the mission to control the crowd (it's one of their jobs) while Su owns the whole venue (it's what she does). If you think this is bonkers (and it is), "Road of Resistance" will blow your mind up. Here: "Road of Resistance" (Live in Japan, official): kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIWoioh8nLGpm7s Until next time!

Want more Yui and Moa? Try "GJ (Good Job)". For an exclusive Moa special try "Moabanger" where she sings parts of Headbanger on her birthday. To see how insane the production was (in the begining) try Tokyo Dome black night - especially "イジメ、ダメ、ゼッタイ". That one you probably won't find on KZbin. As for the reaction: I personally don't mind blured videos. Do whatever feels more comfortable to you. I would recommend to download the video first and not play them off of KZbin. You can use yt-dlp for that.

Over 50 LIVE performances (LIVE is the best way to see BabyMetal , Suzuka’s vocals are always better LIVE which shows her true talent and yes the crowds are in my opinion unrivaled) Karate LIVE at 2016 Download Festival in the UK where 60,000+ British metal heads sing along with the girls would be my suggestion for your next reaction and Suzuka is amazing there. Yui and Moa are saying “heado ban” because in japanese all words end in a vocal sound, so when they use foreign words that do not, they unconsciously add the “missing” vocal sound and in this case they are muting the G instead of saying “bangu”. The famous example everybody knows: robot / roboto. ☺️

Yui and Moa switch places. During some songs, they switch multiple times. Yui has puny cheeks and black hair, Moa has dimples and very dark brown hair. From 2014-17, Yui has a glove on her right hand, Moa on her left. This video is from 2013. So that piece of information does not help here. Just look for the dimples and you cannot go wrong. The crowd does not only know when to sing along. That is not difficult. The three girls provide cues. The crowd also knows its choreography which it executes with low skill level but a lot of enthusiasm. Don't apologize for a long video. It's only 23 minutes after all. Feel free to talk for an hour if you stay on topic.

I did see on a couple of reactions that you have trouble telling Yui and Moa apart from a distance. No, they don't always stay on a particular side of Su. It won't help on this video but on a lot of their early concerts Yui would wear a black glove on her right hand and Moa would wear a black glove on her left hand. I have no idea if Moa and Momo will do the same thing on any new stuff.

The crowd engagement is called wotagei. It is common in idol culture for the some fans in the crowd to interact with their idols while they are performing. It creates an incredible atmosphere, the girls seem to get energy from it and it enhances the spectacle for the viewers of the show. Sadly, because of covid, wotagei have toned down their involvement to waving glowsticks and clapping at the end of the songs. Watch live performances of idol groups from Hello! Project pre-2020 and you will get the gist of it.
