Same and I could see how annoyed some people were. I grew up to be very quiet because I didn’t want to make people uncomfortable. I had to unlearn being so quiet and find a balance.

My mom is the “Enrique” lady at restaurants. She also asks me how to pronounce Spanish words all the time and gets it wrong all the time. Like Sueño. She says “schwaynyo” and I’m like “NO! WHERE IS THE SCHHH COMING FROM?! It’s “swaynyo. Sway not schway” “ She’s 81 but still super spry. Side note for Trey: she thinks every brown haired bearded man is on The Chosen. She sends me screen shots. “Isn’t he on The Chosen?” Even full on white men. She’s seen seasons 1-3 no less than 5 times. She can’t blame cataracts either because she had them removed 😂😂😂❤❤❤

We had a city Christmas parade on a Sunday years ago. We went into the Applebees on the parade route. They were so overwhelmed with customers that our server was crying. They had a bunch of people call in that day and only a few people in the back. We even offered to help bus tables. We ended up leaving after about an hour with no service. 😢

A few times this happened to me and my husband when we went on vacation or even in our hometown.. We get a great server, they take our order, chat with us a bit, even give us great places to see in that town we’re visiting for the first time. And then while we’re waiting for our food, our server comes up with another server. Our first one tells us they’re going on a break or off for the night. It’s like, “but we like you!” “You know us so well”! (even though it was the first time at that restaurant). Our new server, a little more quieter, not that fun to talk too or too much talking. But it’s like there’s a sign over our head, “Make sure to switch servers with this couple”. Lol. So far it hasn’t happened in a while but when it did, we just laugh because how is it that it’s happened several times? We still give our new serve a good tip 😁

I would like to add that the standup waiter is annoying but what’s even worse is the stand up customer who is usually 75 and is 100% not funny. Last night I was asked by an elderly man if I was the hostess with the mostess :/
