Just curious, but what is the point of pitting them against each other? Different things for different people. Everyone is working with what they have to work with and trying to entertain people to make a living. May mot be my cup of tea, but also not a big deal. Unless I missed them throwing shaed at each other, no need for us to do it. Now the one guy who actually hurts his pets and fish he catches, toss him under the bus all day.

I showed this video to my kids, age 5 and 3, to show them the moments a fisherman live for. Needless to say, they have been talking about fishing, playing imaginary fishing games, and asking to go fishing ever since. Your video has helped me instill a bit more love and excitement for one of my passions in my kids. Thanks man. I grew up fishing in Galveston Bay for flounder, reds, and specs with my dad, and i'm looking forward to doing the same with my kids. Hope we see you on the water one day.

There's nothing like Father and Son fishing, and I still remember vividly my Dad teaching me first, freshwater, then saltwater. He's passed now, but every time I hit the water, his spirit is with me. Priceless memories indeed!! Good on you for carrying on a Father/Son tradition, one that hopefully they'll pass on to their own children. Well done Sir.

JC’s are absolutely INFAMOUS for totally destroying spoons at the spillway between Dunnellon & Ingliss FL here. They’re 100% muscle, 100% endurance, and all fight. You’re incredibly fortunate you weren’t fighting that monster in and amongst obstructions, because the only thing I’ve ever seen with their aptitude for the old loop-and-snap are big grouper. Awesome catch!

Shane--"Alright, whaddya need from me?" I LOL'd at this line. I'm always solo when kayak fishing and when I get into a good fish I think "I wish I had some help" but then I realize there isn't much anyone can do but watch. I let the fish give me a sleigh ride until they're threatening to spool me then I give chase. Patience and luck are good fishing companions.

That's awesome. I once fought a lake sturgeon for 2 hours and 15 minutes. Just to end up breaking off. I was running a 12 foot ugly stick with a Shakespeare Alpha reel. It was loaded with Spider wire 80lb braid. Snapped the line while it was looking at me. 15 feet from the dock. It jumped multiple times and was roughly, by eye, around 7-1/2 to 8 feet long. Been fishing for over 45 years. Caught an almost 40 lb. carp on 10 lb. line and a 5' 10" Ugly Stik last year bank fishing the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania. The rod was bent almost to the butt. It was only rated from 4-12 lb. line. Fought that fish for a half hour until I got it in. Thank God the reel drag held up. I swear by Ugly Stiks. Never ever broke one. I have caught a couple that size that fought themselves to death. Especially on light gear, by the time they get in they are spent. Only chance you had maybe was to try and revive it before even messing with the hook or filming. And you would have had to escort it around with your boat to get enough water over its gills.

Nice fish, you ol’ “galloping garbonzo” you! Decades ago, the ONLY fishing lure I’d ever use (almost!) would be a Johnson Weedless Spoon WITH pork rind! Greatest lure ever designed in my opinion! AND it looked “Purdy” too! “Mr. Thickey has schpoken”!

I love how excited he gets. Cuz that's how I am, my adrenaline starts pumping... Awesome red! Big ass Jack too. What a fight they put up. They get big, and just peel off drag. The whole time it's like "just let me see the this thing"... Your videos are great. But your go pro is just locked on the reel. Have it look out at the water more.

Have you ever actually tried to eat Jack Cervalle? Its mostly a red bloody flesh (hence its nickname of Canal Tuna as they are common in the florida canals) and taste like shit - some people say its OK when you thin-strip and fry them into "jack nuggets" but even there i could not stomach them. Better to chop for bait and catch a good snapper or somthing and just eat that lol
@malelpn37
@malelpn37 3 жыл бұрын
@@RCichard Well if you would say that a snapping turtle is better than catching a jack, then I will absolutely take your word for it. No I have never eaten one before but it looks like I would love to catch one I have been both coastal fishing and deep-sea and have not gotten lucky enough yet. But thank you very much for the information now I know if I ever catch one not to eat it!
@RCichard
@RCichard 3 жыл бұрын
@@malelpn37 hahah, sorry was referring to a fish like the Mangrove Snapper or similar is what i was referring to - they usually run the same areas as the jacks where ive been fishing in SW FL... never tried turtle but wonder what it taste like! :)
@malelpn37
@malelpn37 3 жыл бұрын
@@RCichard even though snapping turtle has seven different types of meat they still require being purged because they live on the bottom and eat anything that is dead, or that they can catch. It is rather a strong fishy meat.. personally I like to marinate it for about three days in a good Mexican seasoning with lime and salt and then grill it which is fairly decent, or turtle soup is always good
