Not only Woodley is a excellent wrestler, he is also an amazing striker. Woodley did a lot of research on Till, he KNEW Till's standup is hype, he saw through it, that's why he went so aggressively on foot even in the beginning of the fight.

Till's standup is monstrous. It just wasn't his time. Woodley did well to catch him coming in while his hands were down and getting hit with that power clean can't be easy. And once it was on the ground, it was a mismatch. An extremely high-level wrestler vs someone with very little experience dealing with that. Hats off for his toughness but while the fight stayed on the ground, the finish was inevitable. I hope he cones back stronger because I really want to see how his journey plays out

Tyron's last two fights have been snooze fests at 209 against Stephen Thompson and the worst title fight in UFC history at 214 against Damian Maia he also until this fight hadn't fought in a year so i would disagree that he has been a great champion (no denying he's a world-class fighter). he's also really obnoxious calling everything racist and whining about everything so it's understandable that he would like a young British striker similar to Dana's golden boy Conor McGregor to become the next UFC star. it's just a shame Till was in this fight Dana could have played Till so well and built his record up as he had only fought Stephen Thompson in a razor close decision and a lightweight with a record of 5-3 in the WW division.

You yourself would probably say Tyron is a somewhat savvy business man and obviously a family man and a church man and NEVER gets into trouble. Why should we have a reason to believe hes exaggerating or lying? Dana on the other hand is well known for b.s and not properly promoting certain people based on his feelings. 792bnz --- I disagree with your comment. Firstly, i need to explain this: Ever since McGregor made it big in the UFC, there's a lot of fighters who want the same recognition/pay-check, and they get upset when they don't recieve it. - Woodley is one of those fighters. But anyway, a while ago i heard Dana's response to Woodley's 'Racism' accusation, and he was pretty pissed about it, and i don't blame him. Calling someone a racist is a heavy accusation, therefor we need proper evidence of such a claim. Where's the evidence? Woodley never once gave a good reason to substantiate such a thing. He's just another race-baiter & a complainer, because he wishes he had the money & the fame. If i was Dana, i wouldn't like Woodley too much either. In fact, i personally don't like Woodley because of the 'dats racist' race-card crap. That's why a lot of people call him Tyron 'The Victim' Woodley, and THAT'S why his promotions don't work too well with the UFC audience; NOT because he's black.

Yeah, Till's record was obviously paper. Cerrone is a slow starter and hardly top 10 at that point, beating him in the first round is good but not necessarily world class. He lost the Wonderboy fight but got gifted a win by biased judging, probably arranged by the UFC. This was the most transparent hype job and I found it very easy to shake my head at the odds. The only variable is Woodley's age, we don't know when his speed is gonna go. Woodley that is still in his prime is a well-rounded opponent that prepares very intelligently for all his opponents, a deserving champion for whom I am glad that he is now getting the recognition he deserves. Dana White should gtfo and respect martial artists, Tyron Woodley is a great champion and the UFC is lucky to have him.

Then we all saw the horrific Ngannou - Lewis, greatly appreciated by Woodley btw, for dethroning the boring Woodley - Thompson 2 match. This is worst for Till when you think he only throw 1 shot. A lot of people don’t know that if you don’t know how to control that range and make the shorter opponent fear your power you’ll have a hard time dealing with their quick punches and faster twitch muscle in close and heavy exchanges the shorter fighter usually has the thicker arms/ forearms making them more likely to knock the lankier fighter off balance. Let’s not forget lower center of gravity so shorter folks are harder to knock offbalance let’s not forget lankier fighters have longer necks which allows punches to whip lash the brain more. Shorter fighters also aim up at the chin which when punched will knock your head into whiplash all FACTS

Dale Neish yes it does the chin controls the neck if you throw a punch and connect to the chin it will whip your neck and head in the direction the punch is goin that’s how you knock somebody out bro that’s the whole point of aiming for the lower jawline and chin area it controls your neck that’s why mike Tyson did iron neck training to keep your head in one place when getting punched. It keeps your brain in one place instead of bouncing off the skull when ever the neck or jaw is whiplashed from a good punch it’s all facts bro google it
@Killamity6 жыл бұрын
grey dog think about it bro find me a bunch of fighters where the lankier fighter wins most of the time its the shorter stockier fighter knocking the ahit out of the taller fighter because they’ll get in a heavy exchange and the shorter fighters goal is to take away the length of the lankier fighter just gathje James Vick good example. Justin cut off the cage for Vick and Vick could no longer bail out of that heavy brawling exchange Justin is known for. Justin even said it his bones are thicker so he’s more likely to win hand exchanges we all seen that overhand right that caught Vick because he couldn’t manage distance and his skinny arms can’t block those heavy hands and thicker bones of the shorter fighter Justin it’s just science bro and common sense and years of actual fighting

It takes a very unique skill set to beat a guy like Woodley. Rory, GSP and even Shields have it. One dimensional fighters are highly unlikely to dethrone him, that's what we've seen in his last 4 defenses and people keep buying it. Can we explore the narrative of Conor watching this at home ...in the gym. A wrestler Vs the guy that wants to strike..even the body language of these fighters will be as close to Conor and khabib on the night, and surely Conor gets to see how he can't let it go down.. even more so! Then he did before....needs movement.. can't press as much. But it's a strong simulation for him to think on. *Bad Guy Inc*

I'm a Till fan and was rooting for him, but I also realised Woodley wasn't going to be blitzed out of there like some were saying. I did think Till could press the action and tire Woodley out, maybe force him into a mistake and hurt him, but Woodley came out of the gates fast and set the tone. Din Thomas said they knew that Till was dangerous and they knew they couldn't back up and allow Till to land heavy shots or get his momentum. It was a great game plan from Woodley, but also Woodley is a fucking beast tbh and people underrate how difficult an opponent he is or will continue to be.

Till vs woodley could easily happen again if till does something special in a future fight though. At 170 till vs woodley is by far still the most interesting matchup of guys in the top 5 imo. Colby and usman were tagged up by maia for portions of there fights and wonderboy and lawler have been just as decisively beaten by woodley.

I'm becoming a full out fan of Woodley. Not only does he have Herculean power but he's also a cerebral fighter. Same with Conor Mcgregor. Not that it matters, but I picked Woodley to win that fight. It was after their first face off. Tyron looked as cool as a cucumber. Even Till had to admit that he didn't see any fear in there. None of that matters though, I didn't make a bet. Great job Mr.Woodley!🇺🇸💪🏻✌🏻

If Khabib dominates conor for 5 rounds will you still say there's no need for a rematch?
@MrMarbles0Xecution6 жыл бұрын
chael made the point that woodley won wrestling, striking, and grappling. All aspects of the fight. that's his reason why there should never be a rematch Mcgregor vs. Khabib is different because it's likely neither athlete can dominate in every aspect of the fight because they are both specialists in different aspects of the fight. Ergo a rematch between them will probably always be a toss up even if one of them dominates the first fight.
@nomad27686 жыл бұрын
@@MrMarbles0Xecution i know but still, if conor cant defend takedowns i dont see how he will be able to if they grant him a rematch. Conor has to be at least +20 lbs heavier than khabib to stop takedowns.

stuffing a takedown has never required that weight difference from any other pair of athletes. I don't think you actually believe what you just said. Also, that's a terrible strategy anyways. If anything he should want to be lighter so he can keep his distance easier and go all-in on stand-up rather than worry about how he's going to 'wrestle a wrestler'. by this point conor should know not to box a boxer (mayweather) just like you wouldn't grapple a grappler, he wants to box the grappler, and he does not need 20lbs to do that, in fact it would be easier to do at -20 lbs.

I disagree on something. If Till finishes 2 guys in spectacular fashion. There will be a rematch. But he will have to go out there and earn it.

Yeah, someone who gets dominated can always earn a rematch. Look at DJ vs Henry, after that first fight some would say there is no need for a rematch, but here we are 2 years later, the rematch happens and is a completely different fight. MMA is too unpredictable to pretend you know what will happen and I don't understand how we still have people who think they always know.

Just cuz he won the Striking does not make him a better Striker. Wrestlers often make people drop their guard change their stance and all other sorts of mishaps due to the fear and threat of the wrestling game. If till works on his wrestling confidence he likely could open up more in the Striking game in the future.

The UFC has always been a marketing hyperbole, they've become very good at selling their product. It's the best thing they do and since they begun, it has been their focus- selling their fights. That being said, anyone who doesn't just follow their marketing pitch, who knows and understands MMA can usually see through all that and realize what is really going on and what should happen. Granted their ate surprised along the way, very rarely does something happen outside the ordinary. Having watched UFC since it started and being down at the local fight club, I heard so many people believing into the Till hype, but as I explained the reality behind the fright, Till had nothing more than a punchers chance vs Woodley. He is no where near ready to defeat yet alone compete against a champion like Woodley. I damn near shit myself when the fight was about to start they showed the Vegas odds and Till was-100 favorite. That was impossible to believe but marketing did that. When the fight happened, Till was lost in there and got beat up in every way possible, just as I expected and told people it would happen. Not only did he not throw any punches, what little you could kind of count as a punch - nothing landed in any meaningful manner. Woodley knew all this and had an easy defense, he had said it leading up to the fight and after the fight. Till will learn from this, be better at middleweight, the experience he's gained will help him become a champion eventually but he's still far away from being a champion. We'll see if this motivates him to continue putting the work into becoming a champ that it requires. He's still 3 years away at least.
