Tyron also said the reason he wouldn’t fight Usman is because he hasn’t been training for Usman. And he said he’s been training for a 6’3” striker, not 5’10” wrestler... and it makes sense. Till and Usman are about as opposite as two people could be in terms of their how the use their bodies and their fighting style, so if Tyron had to fight Usman, he would be at an incredible disadvantage.
@ZPSBestProfileName6 жыл бұрын
Till and Usman are both listed a 6 foot. Agreed with your points but height wise they are at most 1 inch in height difference, not 5 inches...
@quiettimegaming36426 жыл бұрын
I agree with you... I was just quoting Woodley. And I think Woodley has a valid point (besides her error on their height difference) , as Till and Usman have very different fighting styles, and Woodley has tailored his camp for Till's style... And fighting Usman without properly preparing would not serve Woodley well. And as we all know, "listed" heights aren't always accurate. Shaq was listed at several different heights throughout his career. And when you compare Woodley to Till, to Usman, Till certainly appears to be the tallest of the three. That's obviously due to how he fights (he has a "long" fighting style), especially when compared to Usman's more compact and 'grindy' fighting style. But you're 100% correct.
@ZPSBestProfileName6 жыл бұрын
Sorry wasn't sure you were quoting. Fair enough. Although, Till v Thompson looked no different in terms of height and both are listed as 6 foot. He also looked notably shorter than Rockhold on that show with Griffin hosting.
@quiettimegaming36426 жыл бұрын
ZPSBestProfileName Very True... I think Till is 6 feet tall, but he intentionally “stands tall” to give the illusion of being taller than he is. And his overall size makes him look big.

I'm fine with Woodley. People in his division were angry that before he was Champ, he understood that you follow the rankings and that the #1 contender gets to fight the champ, always. Then after he became champ, he started looking for money fights e.g. Conor McGregor, initially not wanting to defend against Thompson. He defended it, it's all fine now but his colleagues were angered that he even tried to prioritize money fights before defenses against the ranked contenders. I get it from his perspective, he wants to set up his family: the hate comes from the fact that everybody else in his division was really rubbed the wrong way from that, and they have a LOT of fans put together (Stephen Thompson, hell even Colby Covington have a lot of supporters).
@MrMarbles0Xecution6 жыл бұрын
When the fans responded to Tyrons comment I thought the exact same thing. Tyron has a lot of haters. Haters who have settled into saying they don't like anything about Woodley. Tyron may not be perfect, But from what I see he's a well enough guy that he doesn't deserve to be flat out hated. Though i think it will be difficult for him to win the favor of the fans because he is already the champ. Meaning it will be difficult for Tyron to find opportunities to prove himself and win fans that way. Despite that, I think in the end the fans will look back and respect Tyron as an athlete, competitor and champion.

I'm already one of those people who initially jumped on the bandwagon of hating on him for a few boring performances, but thought more about it and realized the people he was fighting are no joke. Very, very few people can make a Maia or Thompson win look exciting. And then I thought about how active he is as a champion and it really becomes hard to dislike the guy. This will be his FOURTH title defense. It feels like just yesterday he knocked out Lawler.

@timothyholley25466 жыл бұрын
I said feels like, not was. I know it was a while ago. My point is that he's been active enough that it doesn't seem like it's been that long, compared to champs who might fight once a year.
@gravy17706 жыл бұрын
Same way people hated Mayweather because he wasn't putting himself in harms way for their visual enjoyment and still winning fights with a cerebral style. Then they make up random excuses- "he runs like a chicken"(but still outpunches his opponents), "pillow punches"(had several KOs), "saying he's the greatest"(he is legitimately in the conversation). You may not like the guy outside the ring but when he steps in there, he is one of the most skilled to ever do it. And now he's retired people can admit it. That's Woodley's equivalent in boxing. They'll bring up fights with Maia and Thompson, bring up race comments, but that's it. He's too smart to go into brawls. That's why he could defend his belt so many times and why he could take it from a guy like Lawler. Sometimes I think a lot of mma fans really want to see Roman Empire Gladiator type shit. For me its calculated violence over senseless violence any day. I'm always happy to see guys like Woodley, Mighty Mouse, and Stipe in the cage.

I agree with Woodley 100%. Why risk your belt against a guy you havent trained for at all when you could just have a non title fight main event? His PPV numbers are also the lowest of any champion. Dana knew he would accept Till so he gave him the overweight guy hoping he doesnt make weight and Tyrone has to fight the guys he's ducking....or Dana will crush him publicly(Which he just did yesterday). I think Tyrone is somewhat smart but he should have saw this coming after his actions of saying "he'll never fight on 24 hour notice" when multiple people will a spot under you in the div.

Then Woodley had the audacity to KO Robbie and become champ and it's been an issue ever since. It's not boring fights because hardcore fans love Holm and Maia. Woodley is a brilliant fighter. His fight IQ is off the charts, but is frequently undervalued because people see him as only an elite athlete with a big right hand. In fact he is a tactician, an excellent boxer, he has great footwork, he has great cardio, his wrestling is about as good as anyone--putting him up there with GSP, Mendes and Cormier to name a few--and has a strong submission game. He simply does not wing it. Some fighters, including Till, Conor, Silva, Ferguson, Pettis and Holloway to name a few, rely on flow and improvisation. They enter with a game plan, but they rely on reads, movement and surprise to win matches. Woodley is more like Cormier, GSP, Dillashaw, Cruz and Aldo; fighters who prepare against a fighters tendencies so that half of the fight is decided in advance. In many ways this style is harder to appreciate. It is why GSP was often called boring for his wrestling heavy, yet dominating matches, it is why Aldo, despite an incredible reign, was never treated as a GOAT, it is why Cormier got so much criticism against Silva and so on. But Woodley will keep on winning no matter what. He is 36 yet in the shape of a man in his 20s, his genetics are challenged only by Romero. And his next matchup, Covington, has absolutely no chance.

Chael you'll like this quote, maybe you've heard it, but Albert Einstein once said, "The single most important question we will ever answer in our lifetime is do I live in a kind friendly world or an angry hostile world?" I never fully appreciated how right he was until I got into a relationship with a girl that had obviously decided way before I came around that she lived in an angry hostile world. It was her entire attitude about everything. She wasn't happy unless she was unhappy. It also became very apparent to me the world I chose to live in the as very benevolent. People may try to yell you that the world is the world you can't decide. It's like oh yes you can. In fact everyone does whether they realize it or not. Once you do realize it, it affects ones outlook, choices, decisions you make in any given situation. For instance, am I going to go agro on some asshole that cut me off at the gas pump? Fuck no! That guy lives in a hostile world. We are in parralel universes and mine is smooth sailing. I certainly don't want his hostile shit dirtying up my friendly world.

Race baiting and boring fights... Tyron in a nut shell
@Ogami796 жыл бұрын
There's literally no other reason for the hate for Woodley other than he's black and not stupid. You see Derrick Lewis catching hate? Nope! Dude was in the most boring fight of the heavy weight division and still doesnt get hate. However, he's an idiot and nowhere near as intelligent as Woodley. It's pretty easy to spot people
@brendondowdy56516 жыл бұрын
Well he is also sometimes boring and he isn't like a people's champ. Also it gets annoying when he always complains. He has had some amazing fights though such as the marquardt fight. Not picking it because he lost it was just an awesome fight.
@ianpcon36306 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say Derrick isn't smart, he's just an unintentionally funny goofball. See, they only like black people when they are entertaining them and making them laugh at them, not when they succeed like Woodley or anything 🤷♂️

Woodley has been training for a 6 ft tall southpaw striker, totally different skill set than usman. I don't blame him for only fighting the person he's been training to fight

Saying that he would fight Till at whatever he weighs in doesn't take away or excuse what he also said about not willing to fight Usman as a back up.

Chael why do you think Tyron is right to not make the adjustment if you like the replacement fighter idea? What about an injury? Does Till get to fight Usman for interim?

If you're the goat self-proclaimed or otherwise you fight anybody, anywhere, at anytime PERIOD. If your a calculated business-minded cautious overthinking fighter who fights not to lose it makes you smart, it doesnt make you the goat.
@blaze5569226 жыл бұрын
I've never once heard Woodley be on the right side of anything or be nice. Not a single time. There is a reason no other fighters praise him and even analysts have nothing to say about his fights. He is fighting not to lose instead of fighting to win and has turned a great division to shit. Look how exciting it was when Robbie brought life back to 170 after GSP had ruined it for a decade.
@cannabruh33966 жыл бұрын
I love it too! I think it's smart business to book the replacement even if the scheduled events occur 99% of the time.
@cannabruh33966 жыл бұрын
Not only are you covering your ass in the case where either fighter misses/injured, it makes the narrative that much more complex and entertaining.
@Osk426 жыл бұрын
So if Woodley or Till wins, is Usman next in line? That would be a great way to get fighters to want to be a stand in if something happens in a title fight. If you don't fill in, you are the next fighter for the belt.
@rpdecks6 жыл бұрын
I didn’t think TW guarantees a fight w Till. Didn’t he just say it was more likely it would be Till if Till misses weight? I think he still left himself a way out and room to negotiate. He for sure said no way it’s KU
@superduty20236 жыл бұрын
What if Till gets hurt a week out. Will Woodley not fight Usman? Also Chael thanks for calling it the Bullpen. I suggested it on one of your videos

The reason he would still fight Till if Till misses weight is because if he loses he keeps the belt because it becomes a no. Title and has the excuse of the weight. I guarantee you if he turned down the Usman fight if Till missed weight Dana would strip him of the title

Uh...have you ever listened to that big baby? It's always poor me, I don't get any "money fights", everyone boo's me and the list goes on. The dude is obsessed with skin color and racism. It's so annoying and difficult trying to listen to him go on and on about how racism and his skin color has a big impact on his career and even the sport/UFC.

This is pretty ironic considering that he speaks English and violence. He's the only person to beat Maia lately that hurt him and had him in trouble and is the only welterweight to come close to finishing Wonderboy in the UFC. Let's not forget the first round knockout of Lawler for the strap.
@adlad31996 жыл бұрын
Love T-Woodley. He's shown his all round ability, a true fighter. Whatever he speaks is fact, yes, the race thing was unnecessary, but he always fights the true number 1 contenders.

Tyrone Woodley is a great fighter with a genuine personality. The problem is his genuine personality. GSP has a safe fighting style and so does Woodley, The problem is when he tries to act cool while the boos are getting to him. I think he is KOs or goes to a War with Till and wins, The fans will comeback to his side again.
@chrishaswell44056 жыл бұрын
He won the belt “then immediately didn’t want to defend against a number 1 contender wanted a money fight” and before people say Conor never defends a belt when your doing 1/1.6 mil ppv buys you can do what you want !!! his fighting style since becoming champion has been don’t lose a fight rather then go and win the fight like Conor once said “this company is looking for finishes not boring decisions” and finally he tried to play a racism card which was very embarrassing to watch and that’s why “a lot of fans” don’t like him

I personally don't care for Woodley's persona WHEN HE PLAYS THE VICTIM OR PULLS THE RACE CARD. Other than that, I find him intelligent, forthright and straightforward when he has the mike. In the cage, he's a beast. I'd love to see him vs GSP or Khabib or maybe even Mr. Knuckles?
@quanticprophecy6 жыл бұрын
Woodley's instagram videos where he cuts a promo while moping up his sweat and taking off his sooks made him really likable. So finally we have a good face vs heel match with Darren fuck my family Till making a great villain.
@dontdoittoyoself67866 жыл бұрын
He's just the most hated not misnterpeted. He let's the trolls get to him and Dana adds fuel to the fire for the trolls. Some of the trolls are racist and some aren't. Tyron needed to not get caught up in social media. He just made the mistake that a lot of people do.
@janrudzki86126 жыл бұрын
I´m not a big fan of Woodley, but what I like even less than Woodley are fans hating on him. He has two "boring" dominant fights and all of a sudden people forget what a performances he had before.

Biggest and lousiest reason I’ve seen mma fans dislike Woodley is because they can’t let go of this “victim” ideal they claim he’s pulling. The only ones hung up on that however are the ones that are afraid to confront and talk about real controversy like that. Hell its literally the o lot talking point they like to use. Some mma fans are simply ignorant.
