I kept praying about it, because I can go crosseyed even when I'm reading along with audio Bible (which does help). But He's been reassuring me that it's getting in, even if it feels like we aren't absorbing it. Faith comes by HEARING. It's ok if you don't remember every syllable! Don't fear. Hebrews is one of my favorite books to use to explain Jesus being both God and man. Chapter 1 explains his divinity and then Chapter 2 explains his humanity. The rest of the book goes into detail about why both of those things matter and are essential to the gospel. His divine nature gives him the ability to forgive sins and his human nature gives him the ability to be a high priest who can empathize with us.

I remember reading Hebrews 6:4-8 after re-submitting my life to Jesus as Lord. It brought me to tears and made my heart race! I think I was about a year in after having spent 20+ years chasing after the flesh and some other “more enlightened way” to God, and for a few very hard minutes, and reading verse 9, I came to the conclusion that all I could do was trust God to be just, and continue to pursue relationship with Him. It has been a beautifully hard joyfully challenging life ever since. Did I lose my salvation those 20 years that I denied Christ? Only God knows, but I can testify that repentance is possible, because my faith in and relationship with Jesus is rock solid strong. 💪 ❤

I'm looking forward to this study! The "can you lose your salvation" question I am looking forward to. I had an unfortunate encounter with a pastor where he basically said that any tiny sin would send a person to hell at any time, so you had to hope you died at the right moment - and, ironically, I left that meeting feeling suicidal because I was like "what if later I sin and don't even realize it?". It was probably the most horrified I've felt after talking with a Pastor (and I had to find a different church. The doctrine of eternal security is one that prevents that despair, so I hope that it is truth and not just hope!

“The Mark Series” Mike Winger did was so amazing, I’ve been longing for more verse by verse teaching by him.

It’s a soul refresher. I never studied Hebrews, it’s a discovery; and blessed me, I am accompanied by the right guide!

LOVE the Miyagi comparison! I've done' that myself, when comparing things we go through and God's plan for our lives- what He's trying to teach us. :)

I liked the Miyagi reveal bit. I thought he was labouring the Karate Kid thing but then the reveal (of the reveal) was actually very apt.

G'day pastor Mike, thank you for this. I am looking forward to watching this series. Hebrews 6:4-6 and 10:26-31 have been like a knife to my heart for a while now. Scriptures that were enlightened to me only recently inspite of the fact I have read them many times before. Looking forward to hearing your teaching on these passages. God bless your ministry mate.
