I really like watching your channel I get alot of info and I'm getting ready to go to a school and learn to truck drive but I'm having a hard time to figure out witch company to start out with cause for 1 I'm a type 1 diabetic and my health is good I already got the form for my med card filled out also I live in Tennessee so these schools only work with certain companies also I was on disability for the last 8 years and no longer on it cause mybhealth is great so I'm asking if you have any suggestions on companies that would work good for me to get some experience sir.

I picked up from Tyson in several locations and no complaints, just remember to keep your trailer clean and reefer at least 3/4. The one in Arkansas, not sure if it was Springdale, they have a scale that you have to get on when you're loaded and you have to slide your tandems so you are legal before they let you out the gate. Wish they had scales at all shippers and receivers.

I've never heard of a company to fly drivers home to take care of personal stuff like that. But, that's awesome to know. I live fairly close to their plant in Springdale and am somewhat looking into them.

Cheeseman aka Zummstein did offer to fly me home one time about 10 years ago when my father had a heart attack, (still alive and tickin) I chose to drive back home because I didn't want to leave my truck in someone elses care. The good companies are few and far between.
@topdawgtrucker9545 жыл бұрын
Tyson is a real good company you really don't have a lot of home time they keep you rolling and they pay period cuts of on Thursday so whatever you run between Thursday after 4pm till next Thursday before 4pm that's what you will make. I'm not knocking the company it's a really great company. I choose a hazmat job as a route driver making over 100,000 per year home every 3to4days and home on weekends so you got to choose what's best for you and your family.

My experience with Tyson was horrible. They lied in the Orientation class saying they would never for e us to break the law or pull an over weight load…. We’ll, that’s exactly the opposite of what happened. They got in a stand off with me trying to force me to pull an overweight load and blamed me for refusing to take the load on the road. They pulled in the Safety man who told me that if I work for Tyson I should expect to get tickets for being overweight!!!! A SAFETY NAN SAID THIS!!!! what does THAT tell you about Tyson? When I told them I had to protect my CDL from ticket, they told me to haul loads that were overweight or I was fired. I quit on the spot and gave them 2 weeks notice and they fired me on the spot! Yeah! Great experience driving for Tyson. Oh and they don’t push overweight loads on you until you are at about the 3 month mark snd your insurance is about to kick in and your probationary period is almost up. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND A TRUCKING COMPANY THAT HAS SUCH LITTLE REGARD FOR THE LEGALITY AND SAFETY IF THEIR DRIVERS’ LIFE AND CDL RECORD. NEVER!

Good interview as always. If you get a chance to run down Mag Carriers O/O try to get an interview. Mag Carriers LLC out of Dearing, GA is an exceptional "people" company. My truck was needing repairs and they hired me on to their new company division to help me get back on my feet. I had a hard time, but it was due to outside influences like spot freight brokers and constant double bookings and basic TONU. The owner George is a driver himself and they are growing super fast on the O/O side for a smaller newer outfit. It is as close to having your own authority as it gets out here, you broker your own loads direct you negotiate and know the #'s on the confirmation before Mag even gets the fax. They call you and go over the rate sheet and see if evrything you agreed to is on the sheet and if so they sign off on it and it's your load. They just handle all the back office for a small % thats it it's up to the individual on when, where and how to run and make the money or home time they want to get. I was probably the only one there that wasn't 110% happy at the time and it had 0 to do with Mag and 100% to do with brokers and dirty shippers.

To Tyson foods folks, back in 2006, I applied to the Co. I could never forget, I applied to your Moshula Montana location, Bonny Dodge, was the recruiter. I would have worked for you guys, but I lived in NY, and she was unsure to recruit me. Today, I'm healthy as a Horse, during this pandemic, and very soon(few months) I will be looking for another job, I've driven since 2006. I'm in Washington,(Seattle). I'm gonna file another application soon. RW
