Days later Kasperian says that it's "too early to figure out who the aggressor really was" yet she expects the police officer to ascertain this in less than 9 seconds. And to his credit, the officer got it exactly right, neutralized the threat, and did so without endangering the victim or any other bystanders. Give that dude a medal.

@@grizzlyblackpowder1960 Meh, I would agree in some situations. Depends on the city/town/county. Sometimes just a new plan of action would be more beneficial and effective. Places there's been rising crime and what not? Sure, as long as it has a solid plan of action behind it and isn't just throwing money at them. They just end up buying APV with that extra money they don't know what to do with. I do believe we should fund some new concepts though. Not just throw it all into traditional policing. I really think they should have some cops driving around with psychiatrists or something/someone who can handle the cases that aren't violence related, that aren't struggles, that are just home disturbances and families fighting or domestic shit etc. I think we could do a lot of good by having a couple teams/crews of those per police dept. responding to those sorts of calls. You could have police approach situation like normal; once they've talked they can let physiatrist out of vehicle. I bet it would cut down on repeat calls, bring in a more compatible professional, get people the professional help they need right then and there. In the moment, I think it could make a difference. Cops really don't spend much time training to deal with shit like that but I know for a fact it's a good percentage of their calls. At least from my buddy cop who says like 1/3rd of the calls he gets are just BF/GF arguing and stupid shit.
@Datsamoutful
@Datsamoutful 2 жыл бұрын
@@jonny-b4954 I’d be willing to agree to cities funding a short term (6-12 months) study to see if your idea works. It has some merit, but I suspect there will be a learning curve for how to implement it correctly, and in which situations. You’d really need someone who is not only trained in psychology, but also in law enforcement tactics, so they don’t become a liability or a danger to their LE partners. Domestic situations can change in a heartbeat from a situation which is improving, to an all out war zone. So anyone who is acting as a counselor would have to have the training to know what to do when things suddenly turn to boom-boom, and know how to get out of the danger zone quickly and effectively, without compromising other people’s safety.
@jonny-b4954
@jonny-b4954 2 жыл бұрын
@@Datsamoutful For sure. Not every city/county needs a plan like that. Same way I would just increase every department's funding. You'd want a third party to do some sort of study. Yeah, they'd be quite the niche job. They would basically have to be peace officers just trained in psychologic shit. Just seems like a good idea to try and specialized some roles for your most common calls. Besides loitering and shit like that obviously. The domestic disputes, the drug use etc. Could also start with reallocating some of the firing range time to training normal officers with similar programs that already exist too. But honestly, it's all just perception and perspective. I know thousands of those cases happen but you don't hear about the hundreds of thousands that get solved just fine every year. In the end it's not even in like my top 10 biggest issues we need to tackle as a country.

Well, it is a biased account because she's the victim. It is entirely subjective. But, yes it is a first hand account. All we've gotten is the narrative of the fault which is atotal lie and the video which gives a pretty accurate amount of what happened in the 10 seconds during the shooting. Bryant was the aggressor and the other girl wasn't. There was no threat to bryant in that time. It doesn't matter if they got her first. She took it too far. She probably could have had them jailed if any of what the family said was true which I doubt. But now she's dead and Mr great life decisions-I kicked a teen in the head let it happen. Why isn't that supposed father of Bryant being charged yet?

What's not apparent in the video still shot above but clear in other videos is how close the knife was to the target's neck. Media most often stops the video where the knife is still low and at the beginning of the strike, but in reality, by the time the raging beast was felled by the officer, the knife was within inches of the target's neck/throat. That "loving" teen intended to kill, no doubt about it.

I personally think this was completely staged in order to pick up the narrative hours before the Floyd verdict. The timing was way suspicious. Also, no one was stabbed before the police arrived even though there were many minutes from the time of the call and the time police arrived. Why was nobody bleeding yet? The teenage girl was only real mad with the knife she had the whole time when the cop pulled a gun? If she wanted, she could have stuck them all on the scene and been around for thirds before the cops arrived. Also, the moment the cops arrive watch the video and everyone seems to immediately engage and escalate and force this officer to pull his gun and decide. The scene was surrounded by adults watching (I believe they had coached this scenario) and I believe the narrative and taking points sure did come out rapid fire like they were prepared. Even her biological mom who had lost custody of her seemed rather made up and prepared for cameras. Normally, people who lose custody of teens have issues in their lives to the point of looking the part as well, not so made up like her mom looked. The cops were set up here to keep the narrative fueled and the tweets came from celebrities on point to throw gas on the fire. I cannot believe the police do not recognize these set up situations and keep pulling their guns and shooting. I believe they sacrificed this teen girl who likely did not realize she was being played by adults as the next to potentially die. And die she did. She will receive no Floyd money, but plenty of others who set this up will.

Exactly. It's not like she was surrounded by cops and no bystanders were in immediate danger. Now that I think about it, I feel like every video I've seen of a cop using a tazer is when the cop themselves is the target. Essentially, the cop is willing to use a less than lethal option that may not even work (how many videos do we see of tazers not connecting with the target or hitting skin and connecting the circuit), when their lives are at risk. When an innocent bystanders life is at risk, they use the option that has the most likely outcome to save the bystander, a gun. Now obviously they use guns to protect themselves too but there are so many variables and each situation is different. I just saw a video of a cop using a tazer on a dude with a knife. The tazer didn't work and the cop ran away while being chased. He got far enough away to pull his gun, turn around and fire. That situation didn't involve other bystanders and the cop felt he had the time to deploy a tazer and a gun if the tazer didn't work. Had he gone right to the gun, that probably still would have been justified.

Come on, did you really want to do that? You know, if she dies you might actually come to regret this. Oops, another stab wound. Really, is that nice? Let's calm down."

My targets when I show up cold and try a few practice rounds with a .22 aren’t as accurate. This guy is a frick’n hero. The past five years in particular have proven that. Asimov was, when he made that quote, criticising Americans for choosing politicians who were dumb as shit over politicians who were actually intelligent, and who criticised intelligent politicians and intelligent people. Those who do that are almost exclusively right-wing Republicans in the US. Here's something else he said in that same article: "We have a buzzword, too, for anyone who admires competence, knowledge, learning and skill, and who wishes to spread it around. People like that are called 'elitist.'" Today, this is how America's right-wing behaves. To a left-winger, an elitist is someone who has money and uses that money to maintain his position in society and keep other people down. Another fantastic quote from that article that can be used to beat modern Republicans over the head with is: "As it happens, reading is one of those elitist subjects I have been talking about, and the American public, by and large, in their distrust of experts and in their contempt of pointy-head professors, can't read and don't read." Which side of the political aisle did that last one remind you of? You still want to quote him?

@@daviddavies3637 Good point there, David. Glad to know how "elitists" like Asimov truly do think- like the true hypocrites they are. Intellectuals rarely understand the thinking of people that have common sense. Distrust comes from the results of the actions of the so called enlightened that feel that reading a book somehow gives them a head's up to someone that experiences and finds answers through other legitimate means. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of people that lack any kind of intelligence. But unfortunately- it is often the left that exploits their power in numbers to push idealogies that are not actually to the advantage of those they exploit. Telling people that hatred of a person's skin color is actually an epidemic in this country is a sad, sad joke. The fact that we question the actions of those that gain nothing from taking a life rather than the personal responsibility of the person that was the root cause of the problem is a tragic and dangerous narrative to push.
