Love this person. High respect, I have learned more from him than from 99% of self-appointed gurus. He speaks the truth to me.

I knew UG personally for forty years. His integrity was impeccable and his kindness ran deep. While at times, apparently contradictory, he was not. He was an example of the spontaneous activity of 'four-corner' negation. This means that he expressed the understanding that no position (the mind can take) can grasp the Truth. As to 'guru' he told me that the Sanskrit word means the dispeller of darkness and not as commonly thought the giver of light. Misunderstanding this is what makes gurus, monsters.

Would have been great to have known him. Rarely honest. There's so much scam today that I appreciate him even more. They write books and call themselves sages to market themselves, making fools out of the endless seekers. There's nothing to sell. UG was clear on this but how many got it? Not that many.

Douglas. Do you think UG had ideas about how to solve some of these problems ? He was very cautious to never give positive answers but at the same time he seemed to have a strong sense of what is ‘right’ (for want if a better word ).
@YogaofRelationship

@@markkeogh2190 He like a number of Indian sages take it as self-evident from their Liberated condition POV that if one is not practicing the Dharma one is wasting their lives. Tibetans agree with this also. The 'path' requires a relinquishing of the fulfillment of things in the world.

Yeah, in the East, they have no interest in worldly, mundane, relation-based things... and they live simply in contentment. I left the East and moved back to the States. For an American, they have an underlying, deep-rooted need for your attention, for things, objects, vices, etc. It is almost never turned off, yet they aren't aware of this within themselves. They think it is normal. They are never satisfied. I plan on moving back out to the East. Because the people are much more simple and less needy. They're usually content. Of course, everywhere we all are the same. But in the West, it is very prevalent. Want, want, want. Need, need, need. More, more, more. It's like a huge addiction.

UG is correct regarding those Gurus who took it as a profession. He also said unless you dream of becoming a Guru you can't condemn other Gurus . Only a reformed addict has the right to condemn Drugs . Only a reformed Guru can condemn Gurus . At the end all are Gurus . UG was a Guru condemning Guru. It ignorance pitching against ignorance. He says love and hatred , courage and fear , violence and non violence, life and death have the same source. The aim of any conversation according to him is to win over each other. He believes conversation is a dual between two dogs with an aim to win. He couldn't accept that in the end the dogs doesn't matter but the truth that is being discussed is the winner if at all the conversation is for truth. If logic and dialectics are aimed at projecting ones own ignorance on others then the whole endeavour the intelligent mind put forward for millenia is a wasted effort. He conveniently forgot that individuals converse within themselves to explore the truth.

Attempts can be made to realise the Eternal Truth (Sanathan Satya) only through Self Enquiry if one can do so with some already possessing knowledge or through Q & A method by approaching a proper Guru or by learning the teachings through the books, gadgets released by them. Are people coming to Earth with any sort of knowledge while they are born ? How one can attain knowledge without the help of some sincerely imparting Guru/teacher ? Can anybody learn themselves without a Guru or any aid for learning, viz., Writing on sand, Slate, Blackboard, Book, Internet, Computer, TV education channel, etc ? Even if a person does not attend school and claiming that he is learning himself at home should not forget that the contribution of a sincere Guru is inherent in the above narrated sources of learning and in hidden form. It is applicable to Philosophy and Spiritualism too. It will be an ungrateful act if a learner, either getting knowledge directly or indirectly through a Guru/Teacher later neglects/disrespecting the sincerely imparting Guru/Gurus after grasping and attaining some sort of knowledge through the said Guru (Male or Female), be it in worldly affairs or spiritual. Getting Free education, giving Gurudakshina or paying fees for Education does not matter here. There is something beyond that which cannot be measured. Even some persons simply Commenting /commenting with good intention to impart knowledge to others/ constructively making criticism in comment box, assume the role of Gurus indirectly, without their knowledge ! @@vgiriprasad7212 Totally agree with you Sir. The trickiest thing in the whole issue of gaining knowledge or wisdom is the wisdom to know the difference between Vidya and Avidya, knowledge and Ignorance, Temporal and Eternal. This wisdom, as you mentioned correctly, is not spontaneous in most of us but acquired in due course through the means you rightly said. Guru is a tool and means to attain a higher level of knowledge provided the Guru himself knows his own limitations in teaching and cautioning his student about keeping himself from being trapped in beliefs or dogmas. The ultimate profoundest question has never been addressed with the profoundest Answer. The Bliss of the Unknowable is an experience that can never be taught. Any Guru attempting to do so is overstepping his utility and leading his followers into ignorance . A Guru can point his finger to the moon so that the student finds a direction and actual process of experiencing the moon is again an individual matter. A good Guru will always caution his student not to see his finger but the moon. Ultimately what knowledge signifies is knowing what ignorance is. The remaining is self evident Truth, The Sat-Chit-Aananda.

Rajneesh, alias Osho, taught meditation and love, but in private he praised Hitler and gave his permission for Sheela, his personal secretary, to poison over 751 people in Oregon with salmonella bacteria. So this saint of India conducted the biggest biowarfare attack in American history in a crazy scheme to avoid being deported. He poisoned little children he never even met. Sheela tape recorded Rajneesh telling her that they would need to kill people to stay in Oregon. The only reason Rajneesh was not charged is because the tape was inadmissible because it was illegally obtained by Sheela.

Everything is clear before my eyes." - Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (Osho) The reality - "Adolf Hitler’s violence with the Jews was far more peaceful, because he killed people in the most up-to-date gas chambers, where you don’t take much time." - "Thousands of people can be put in a gas chamber, and just a switch is pressed. Within a second you will not know when you were alive and when you died. Within a second, you evaporate." - "The chimneys of the factory start taking you, the smoke - you can call it the holy smoke - and this seems to be a direct way towards God. The smoke simply goes upwards." - Osho's words from his 1985 book, From Death to Deathlessness. During official testimony at the United States District Court in Portland, Oregon, Ma Ava (Ava Avalos) stated that Ma Anand Sheela had played a tape recording of a meeting Sheela had with Rajneesh about the 'need to kill people.' The tape was played to Rajneesh's inner circle of sannyasins in order to strengthen their resolve to carry out criminal acts. See the court statement. Ma Ava stated under oath that "She (Ma Anand Sheela) came back to the meeting and ... began to play the tape. It was a little hard to hear what he was saying ... And the gist of Bhagwan's response, yes, it was going to be necessary to kill people to stay in Oregon. And that actually killing people wasn't such a bad thing. And actually Hitler was a great man, although he could not say that publicly because nobody would understand that. He is offering his views. They may or may not be in sync with yours. He has this critical approach of the social system be it Asian, Western etc. He speaks his views all over the world at various forums, debates, interviews etc. This very act of his engaging with others is his life, his exploration, his search, his seeking and him attempting to making meaning of this life. He is reassuring himself by speaking aloud his views and when engaging with others causes a contest. And when the listener or enquirer cannot dismantle his views causes him to feel reassured that his views are correct. Many speak to themselves to get the clarity they want because of their introverted nature, their lack of a vocabulary, because they don’t have the time or for a million other reasons. Silent people with vast vocabularies, abilities, superior education etc also exist but this may just not be their raison d’être. They think it’s a big waste of time in this vast cosmos with is just a waste of space.

This attitude suggests that U.G. has certainly no interest for the others, not even their questions. Easy not to try to convince when you know everything.

A whole bunch of nihilism.This is the problem with people who are too sure of themselves. Their conviction is mistaken for truth. How does he know that the Vedas are the result of a bunch of drunk folks in the jungle (@4.57). Vedas incredibly compact and coherent, the exact opposite of what a drunken revelry will produce. He talks of meditation as something that will take you to the loony bin or worse. Meditation is an extraordinary science of how one transcends the gross sense of the self to the subtle sense. For those who care, the Brahmanandavalli in Taitriya Upanishad (yes the same Vedas he stupidly dismisses as issues of drunken sages) describes the five koshas, or layers of identification of self (four of which are mis-identification, and one is the correct), and goes into extraordinary detail through example and dialog. Has he given a lecture on this? The idea of misidentification described in the Upanishads finds resonance in modern day neuro-biology which describes in considerable detail how even missing limbs can be thought of as oneself, and part of reducing phantom limb pain involves training the mind to re-identify with other limbs (see V. R. Ramachandran lectures). What is clear is that he has neither plumbed the Vedas nor bothered to think. What he has in spades is the unshakeable conviction of a salesperson. There are enough unsure lambs, i.e., people who lack conviction or knowledge themselves but are seduced by this hutzpah. What these lambs don't realize is that he is the "anti-guru" guru, and transformed himself into the very demagogues he rails against! See the hypocrisy here? There is a market for anti-whatever. Sad to the see the lambs taken in by this bullshit so much that they have decided to call by the first two letters of the four letter word, ugly.
