I Was recruited almost the same way except i was gifted with a 6 pack of cool ones in the NCO Club. That was a big deal to me being a PFC fresh out of Signal school at Fort Gordon, Ga. hanging out with the best of the Army. I did 7 years active with the 7th until qualitative management pushed me into the reserves because of multiple injuries. But it was the most fun i EVER Had and was way better than driving nails as a Carpenter back on the block.

What I love about the green beret is they are always relevant because of their unconventional warfare mission meaning even in peacetime they are still used. So in terms of job security this is the one to go. Plus they aren’t blockheads like SEAlS or recon. These guys are more the intelligent warrior. When you ever meet a green beret guy they tend to be down to earth and really chill

So what happened is one ranger goes through a doorway and gets shot and injured his ranger teammates are right behind the door wondering if their life if worth giving to save his teammates. The SEAL that heard this story had the same situation happen to him and he ran through the doorway without hesitation and he saved his teammate. So what I am trying to say is that SEALs care and will sacrifice for their teammates I don't really know if that's the case for the rangers.

How often does SF operate in water and maritime missions compared to SEALs?
@Spike32026 жыл бұрын
SF operates in the same conditions SEALs do. But its just a matter of primary mission. Also, not all SF soldiers are dive qualified. Thats a separate school with another selection type process within SF. As for how often SF operates in the water, that all is classified info and also they are the quiet professionals. They dont broadcast that. All special ops forces are pretty discreet but SEALs just get more screen time and everybody thinks they are the toughest and what not which is why they are put on such a high pedestal. Its just that the primary missions are differet. SF is primarily unconventional warfare and guerilla warfare where SEALs are more direct raids and attack and shit like that. There is overlap and they do work together though. SF does do direct action stuff as well, just not their main role.

Hey guys. I'm a freshmen in highschool and I'm on the road to finding my life purpose. I play baseball and I love the sport because it takes physical skills and mental skills. I love guns and I go shooting with my dad on occasions. I would really love a job that is active and takes physical skill and mental skill. So if someone could answer some of these questions it would be much appreciated. How do you become a special forces officer? How much money do they make? What exactly do they do? How do I know if I have what it takes to be in special forces? Thanks for reading this have a nice day!
@philbourdon98558 жыл бұрын
***** thank you for responding I appreciate it, but I've been looking and I think the best route for me is going to the air force academy to be a spce operations officer or a spec ops officer I haven't decided that yet.
@avatar0988 жыл бұрын
In order to become a special forces officer, you must first become an Army officer. This means doing well in high school in order to get into college. Find a good ROTC program or, if you're really into military life, get into the West Point Military Academy. That is the easy part. From there, you must do everything to the up most perfection. APFT must be the easiest thing to max out. Strong leadership is a must. Strong academics is a must. Basically, you're trying to get the highest recommendations from your cadre in order to make life a bit easier for.. Commissioning. This is pretty much where this video picks up. Ranger school, airborne, blah blah blah, selection program, blah blah blah, ???, Special Forces selection, more ???, then FINALLY you'll be a Special Forces Officer :)
@avatar0988 жыл бұрын
As for 'how do you know you're cut out for Spec Ops'? Are you consistently striving to be the best at whatever you are currently doing? If you want to lead the best soldiers the nation has to offer, you also have to be one of the best. This can be practiced way down in high school. Strive for perfection. If you fail, that's okay, learn and grow from it. Let me know if you have any other questions! As for how I know all of this? I was an ROTC cadet. Then I learned that Army life was not for me :)

Thank you for responding! I talked with my parents about it and I've decided to try and get into the Air Force Academy and from there go straight to the army as an officer. Even if I don't make it in the Air Force Academy, I will be well prepared for a university.

I keep getting military recruitment videos recommended to me, could be because im already suicidal and a loner and mostly i don't have a lot if fear, but im not sure im strong enough and if i got the stamina and emotional stability to join the military that's the problem, i also don't think i would be accepted into any military if i decided to join.
@joebutta75396 жыл бұрын
GUESTKID9976 VIDEOS your self- doubt IS fear...An attitude like you have, most likely wouldn't pass the psych eval. to be accepted. A change in your attitude (especially toward yourself) would be a good place to start. Believe in yourself, and you'll be surprised what you are capable of.

I'm wanting to join the army and eventually do rangers or green beret, opinions on which is better?
@hunterpenton61988 жыл бұрын
I'm considering both myself. Neither one is really "better" they're just different and it comes down to what you like. Rangers-high intensity direct action, heavy fighting, not a lot of freedom, always have a "go go go fuck the Taliban" type attitude. Basically, they're really aggressive. Army SF-more freedom (meaning long hair, beards etc), more laid back, small teams, everyone has a say. They typically do foreign internal defense, which means you'll be teaching others how to wage war. Delta/The Unit-recruits from Rangers and SF. Mix of both basically, they were based around the British SAS, lots of high speed very dangerous counter terrorism stuff Personally I'm leaning towards Rangers but I'll probably be forced to go to SFAS since I'm going National Guard to pay for college and 18x is the only active duty contract available to prior service applicants. Hope I helped
@chipfaircloth23368 жыл бұрын
You can go ranger then go SF I believe, so you can do both
@hunterpenton61988 жыл бұрын
I second that-a lot of Rangers go SF to get more freedom so you can go Rangers then SF. But just because you can doesn't mean RASP is a cakewalk and no SOF unit, Rangers included, like having a guy who just sees the unit as a stepping stone. In all those types of jobs you're either 110% committed to it or you're going to fall behind. So basically- you can go Rangers then SF but don't set that goal. I'd go Rangers (but of course I'm biased) and give it your all and if you feel the need for more freedom or a different style of doing things then try for SF. The Rangers are essential the Army's version of the SEALs but more aggressive and less movies about them. There not just a stepping stone to SF, remember that.
@hunterpenton61988 жыл бұрын
Rangers aren't just a stepping stone to SF. No unit is going to want someone who's only there because he thinks it'll be easy to get into the Rangers then just leaves.

If you want action and firefights and do it when your 18 and get SOF assaulting experience go Rangers but if you want to be a unconventional warrior the Q course is two years so you pick personally I want to earn my Tan beret and ranger scroll first and then go green beret and and get my chance to go to CAG

Assuming you have never attempted this before - Don't sleep for 24 hours. Then put 40 pounds of weight in your school backpack. Then start walking in some comfortable shoes. If you can carry that weight 15 miles on your first attempt without stopping for a break - then you "might" have a chance. But understand that you will have to get MUCH tougher than that. Also, improve your Arabic. And be ready to learn a wide array of things. It's an extremely tough challenge. But it IS achievable - if you put your mind to it.

Alright, this video highly motivated me and i've learned to never give up on life from wrestling. I'm sore as hell, but that's no excuse to these snake eaters. Time to workout more (my body is sore as hell but my spirit says keep pushing). Anyone with knowledge/experience, can you tell me how I can attend SFAS after I get my MOS?
@afro__g52178 жыл бұрын
Also, how does the 18x enlistment option work? Do i have to wait until i'm E-4 after OSUT & Airborne before i attend SFAS, or do i automatically get it?

@Aaron-x1l5i8 жыл бұрын
If you put the time an effort in man. Although if you feel you are not ready don't go for SF. I am in the same boat with you on getting ready. Keep doing the workouts if you feel ready to do it make it happen. The worst that could happen is you would not be selected. Good luck.
@jackschirmer95088 жыл бұрын
You'll be fully prepared if you put in effort and time like Juan said, just keep on working out (try to max out the APFT), read some books on SF, study and make sure to score high on the ASVAB and you'll do great.
