The church is not up for grabs to public opinion . It is based on faith, the Word, the truth and way. It’s 2000 years of faith, gospel and tradition. It’s not just for American “values and perceptions “ . It is as it has been for 2000 years a universal church.

This wasn't a totally unbalanced report. I commend you. 🤗 However, belonging to the Catholic church is a much larger and deeper issue. 💞 And. . . Some of the changes requested by these people cannot be done, partially because the request is based on United States of American secular standards not on Rome religious standard that has 2 millennia of tradition at its back. 🤷‍♀️🤔☺️ 🛡️🕯️🛡️

This segment completely ignores why the vast majority of people convert to Catholicism: its rules, structure, and rigidity. People are sick and tired of a wobbly, feel-good, rock concert style version of Christianity where anything goes and appreciate the 2000 year-old adherence to rules that Catholicism provides. The more "inclusive" the church tries to become, the more followers it will lose (probably to Eastern Orthodoxy).

He is doing good with the eastern catholic churches and orthodox dialogue. Also, women should never be ordained as priests but deaconess role should come back for them to be involved in church but not taking roles away from men. Gay marriage is heresy and blasphemy.

I used to be Catholic. For me it comes down to Priesthood authority, I don't believe in the catholic system of Priesthood authority. The pope can't change that, Priesthood authority comes directly from God, I no longer believe the Catholic church has that. That said I think the pope has done an excellent job of making people know they are included and I really appreciate his message of peace.

The fact you pointed out positive information with the critical viewpoint, indicates you mean no harm, you just wish to share your view. Thank you, and thank you for sharing your frustration with the church. I consider myself to ve Catholic, but my grandpa would have argued that. I tend to shut out negative opinions, because many are simply ignorant. You taught me something today, and I will be educating myself on this topic. Thanks!

@@dazoosocialworker I love the Catholic church and especially it's people. The church buildings are beautiful. I have lots of friends and family who are catholic and they respect me and I respect them. Sometimes we even go to each other's church events, it is all good. People I think get caught up too much in the idea of perfection and we know even though Jesus Christ was perfect, none of us are, so we need to all give ourselves some slack. 😁

You left the church because it doesn’t suite your opinion. Instead of humbly submitting to 2000 years of wisdom and tradition you chose to follow your own interpretation and mind. You have the same prideful rebellious spirit of Protestants, that you as a humble individual can know and decide what is moral and right. If the church can change its doctrines on Mary, the Immaculate Conception, etc., then clearly, it can change its views on social issues as well. And I honestly think that could draw back those that have left. I converted as an adult but left because of the lack of social support I received from people in those communities.
