U2's best songs are almost always the tracks hidden in the albums/the ones they don't release as singles. American Soul got way more airplay & it's a decent song, but Lights of Home is truly next level imo. Lyrically, melodically, everything. One of the best songs they've ever made imo, & the strings here are perfect

@@mysticedge4 Of that list you wrote, Zooropa doesn't have any good song, Lemon (1) maybe the only regular one. Then you have Pop, with only one "Please" (2) . From the All That You Can't Leave Behind, Elevation is good, but Walk On (3) is better. How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb has maybe two good songs: Miracle Drug and All Because of you (5) . No Line on the Horizon (0). Songs of Innocence, maybe but barely "Volcano" and "Raised By Wolves" (7) . Songs of experience : only and maybe regular song "The Little Things That Give You Away" (8) and if they would have played Lights of home as in this video, maybe it could have been the one. There.... the rest is pop music similar to Coldplay, nothing comparable to the caliber of music they made in the 80's.

I've decided that the answer for people who say they don't make good new music anymore is to direct those people back to songs that they overlooked. There is a huge catalog to choose from. Or if someone wants to hang onto some songs from the past, do that! There's "something for everyone," said the Edge that time they promoted a new tour in KMart in NYC! Look it up and listen carefully!
