I've been a fan of U2 since 1980 and I'm ashamed to say I didn't even really bother to listen to the last couple of albums because I felt like their sound had changed too much. How wrong I was to have ignored these albums. Lots of wonderful gems hidden in here. This is a fantastic song with a necessary message. When I first heard the song on the radio yesterday, I said to myself, "Wow, you can hear U2's Christian theology coming through in these lyrics." I hadn't seen the video at that point, but now that I have I see how amazing the lyrics fit the video. If people, despite globally-given scriptural warnings, stubbornly continue to revolt against God, such as by violating His moral laws, against homosexual sex; they should expect to reap what they sow, for willfully breaking God's laws. "At the end of the day", come Armageddon day from God, soon, only those who choose to do the right thing - to listen to and obey the Creator's scriptural words and warnings (including regarding His moral laws) - are going to make it through, into God's true new world here. The rest (the majority of persons) will not. The Creator Himself forbids and condemns homosexual sex, repeatedly, in His words - the Creator Himself does NOT agree with lifestyles that include homosexual sex, which is demonic in nature. The same Bible (Authored by God) that quote has been pulled from also condemns homosexual sex/ fornication multiple times; stating that to engage in it is a sin "deserving of death" FROM HIM on His soon-coming Armageddon Day - and that those who engage in same-sex sex/ fornication will be barred from everlasting life in God's Kingdom/true new world here. (Romans 1:26-32; 1Corinthians 6:9-11) Jah did NOT "accept" the demonic sexual perversions of homosexual sex (which also led to violence) in the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah, but instead hated that evil and annihilated the town and its God-disrespecting inhabitants. That occurrence was purposely recorded in the Bible and preserved as a warning lesson down until this day. Then, any honest-hearted, God-respecting person who realizes that they have been breaking God's laws regarding these things can "repent and turn around" (Acts 3:19) and violate Jah's laws no more. Then they can be "washed clean", and have their chance to make it into/ live in God's new world here. Jah's Armageddon Day upon the stubbornly and heinously wicked persons of the world is SOON, so the need for this truth to be spread and for people to heed it is very, very urgent.
