Not a phone in sight. The fabulous days when crowds were passionate about music, not their phones. You can see the crowd getting involved and concentrating with the song at hand (Gloria) instead of holding/focusing/looking at their devices.

Me too. My buddy (R.I.P. Jeff Hector) and I got there about 2:00 to get prime seats, as it was general admission back then, not knowing whether or not the show was going to be canceled in the typical early June Colorado weather. We were so stoked (and stoned) when the sky looked like it was finally starting to clear near dusk. Turned out cool that it never did, because the misty rain, the low-lying clouds, and, of course, the natural acoustics at Red Rocks, coupled with the purity of Bono’s voice, made for a perfect show.

1:18 though.... nah i actually agree , Clayton gets so shit on by a lot in the bass playing world and i never got it, people don't seem to understand that especially on these early records, the rhythm parts existed before those great Edge guitar lines, he woudn't have been writing those on nothing and as such Clayton is absolutely integral to U2. Like what? you think a technically very proficient bassist with busy lines would have made U2 better? No way. This is part of the U2 sound and these songs don't get written this way without Clayton. In fact you remove one person from U2 and it's not the same sound, the same band, and i don't think we'D know their name today. Anyway, Gloria was the first bass solo i learned when i picked up bas sat 17 in 1996. It helped that's it's easy as hell but makes you sound good to people who don'T know bass playing much.

@@lubomirmoravcik6066 Sorry to disagree. The performance I saw was underwhelming. Two points, Bono's arm was still in a sling, and they were pushing Joshua Tree and a bit of Rattle and Hum, which, I really didnt like. It was a very commercial forced song list. I think only one or two of their old songs were played. It was all about promoting those albums. And all the Goth Chicks sitting around us agreed by the way we were dancing to Los Lobos more than U2. I mean..Goth chicks..5 of them..dancing to Los Lobos with 3 preppy college guys in the middle of it all, to Los Lobos? I like U2, but that was a lousy tour and concert.

Around 2008 I went to Colorado for a few days. I won a few bob on Cheltenham and didnt want to wast the winnings. So I ended up, by complete coincidence, arriving at this place called Red Rocks.... the place where this pure rock magic was born. Proud to be Irish! More so to be from Dublin, even more so to be from northside Dublin!! Up the Dubs!

The UNDER A BLOOD RED SKY is amazing. Nice to see video footage of this tune. And what's incredibly cool is that it's just the four of them onstage and there is a lot of space in this song. But none of that space feels empty.
