Tony is right imo. If they make a modular receiver bay (with or without the actual Skyzones modules included) and maybe switchable 4:3 / 16:9 resolution and remove the camera to cut costs this would be instant buy for me.

I would definitely go with these over HDOs. Great to see lower cost options for us who are just getting started on a tight budget.
@Vaterraman5 жыл бұрын
I think I'd go for HDO simply because I can toss in the Rapidfire module. I'd have to truly be able to test the Skyzones to know if they are worth it. In other words, it would have to perform pretty close to the HDO with rapidfire, or at least make up for the lack in rx quality for screen quality.

Boy! The shot of your video feed looks excellent! The nice thing about these is the ‘extras’ that are included; wide strap, extra face plates, I love the Knight Rider LED’s also. Pimped out right out of the box. The lack of a module bay may be a drawback but your reception looked great.

Great review. As someone just getting into the hobby I don’t think I would be investing this much for my first set of goggles, but they definitely look nice. I think I would still pick these over the HDOs though because I’m not so interested investing in additional modules at this point, and that sounds like just too much to spend so early on. I think in the end I will go for one step down and get a pair of sky zone sky02x/c since they have all the features I need and should last me a number of years. There is also so much change happening in the goggle field right now that it doesn’t make much sense to me to go for the most expensive goggle when there will be something bigger and better right around the corner. Thanks again for doing these detailed reviews, very entertaining and informative.

I have a pair of the original Skyzones and they have served me well. I am now in the market to upgrade and these look really tempting. Been rocking my HD2 for a long time, been through about 4 modules and I adore the massive screens but there are so many things that are just a mission - least of which, only being able to use 2s packs. its amazing to be able to use a 4s pack to power you goggles! The huge resolution is a no brainer with some type of HD feed on the way. The HDO are just mad expensive and I've flown a demo set and can't say I was blown away. Just seem too much money for the price!

@IanBeaty5 жыл бұрын
This would be a tough decision if I was looking for new goggles and I did not already own HD2 T2 goggles with Rapidfire. The lower price is a huge plus and I will definitely be recommending these to friends. I am a huge fan of the multiple faceplate design. I love how well everything is integrated and just works. The goofy RGB lights are great; I am way into RGB stuff, and you can turn them off if you don't want them. The front camera would be a helpful feature to me. I do really wish they had a module bay, even if it came empty and there was still a built-in receiver that you could turn on and off. I would really like the ability to use modules directly in the goggles because I would never plug in something externally from an AV cable; too much of a hassle. That would also make a digital receiver module directly in the goggles possible in the future. So, the one thing I would change is leave an empty module bay there in the side. If it had that, this would probably be the ultimate goggle out there right now. Otherwise, I would not necessarily change anything else except maybe a little more FOV because I have a 50 degree right now and I love it, but that is just a personal preference.
@fpvflyriding5 жыл бұрын
Good stuff. I like 16:9 better too. I think the price difference is significant & I'm happy with the 02C's, so I would certainly go Skyzone on this. I personally don't need ultimate penetration, etc. I wonder if the spare face plates fit the O2C's & if they can be purchased separately.

I knew it, skyzone is an awesome company, and this just blew away fat shark. They’ve been making great products for a while now, and they’re willing to put in the effort that others aren’t. I can see skyzone becoming the top manufacturer of goggles. I wish I could afford these, but for now I’m happy with my skyzone v02+ goggles, love the range as well. Lost a quad over a hill and down the other side and probably close to a half a mile away, maybe more and could still just see enough to be able to work out where it was. @wannab0095 жыл бұрын
i would get them because of the price range, but like others have commented the lack of module is what is holding them back from being the best goggle, i think if it came as a full kit with module at this price would be great, or cheaper without and you can get the rapidfire if that would be your preference.
@jeremypushong54515 жыл бұрын
With digital around the corner, a module bay is definitely on list of must haves. With digital, 2k & 4K will be around the next corner so 16:9 is a preference. With that said goggles that I can use comfortably all day is priceless! There will always be a new tech in the works, but comfort and fit is primary. HDO vs 03O = Skyzone 03O’s for the win! The faceplate fitments are great. Interesting there is still the front facing camera. I dig the lightbar they added, and the adjustable lumens seems a great idea if seperate from a brightness control which seems to wash out the image easily. These look great. I've only been into the hobby about a year now after seeing your $99 build video. WHICH I DID BUILD! Ha... But I'm saving for goggles now, and after seeing these Sky 03's. I think these are gonna be the ones I'm going to get. Love the color too. So thank you for getting me set upin the hobby. And all the information you provid for these products really help me in making decisions. KEEP IT UP!

Skyzone seem to be the only manufacturer (possibly with the exception of ORQA) who are actually learning from their mistakes and listening to the community. Not only did they amend the design of the original 03's after a few reviews which criticized the fit they have now come out with an updated version with not only better screens but again looking at the fit issues and giving you face plate options and a wide head strap, cheap items to include which can make a massive difference when it come to using them. If you use modules they are possibly not for you but you do always have the option of using something like a dock king and connecting to the av in so it's not the end of the world. My personal experience of skyzone receivers is that they are generally pretty good, if your not flying in dense trees or bando's then with some decent antenna they are pretty good.

Sky zones for me. They are listening and they're responding fast to people's wants. Switchable 4:3 / 16:9 in a goggle would be great
@UAVfutures5 жыл бұрын
do you really think you would use this feature, it would just crop the screen. I see people comment on this but have never met ANYONE who actually does crop their image?
@uneekpcs5 жыл бұрын
@@UAVfutures I am only just starting out in the hobby so don't fully understand how it all works yet (sooo much to learn). I got Dom V3 as I prefer the wideness of 16 by 9. Probably my ignorance and lack of understanding but seems like it would be great to have the option of both native ratios without the cropping if that's possible?. I like the way Skyzone seem to listen to the customer base and the way they try out new things like the forward facing camera, the swappable face plate and option to put the battery on the side of the headband whether the majority of people use it or not they give the option and they try to innovate so good on em.

Their customer support has been top notch. I purchased these goggles on presale, after arriving I noticed they wouldn’t stay powered up but over Facebook chat I had a response in under 2 hours and shortly after troubleshooting replacements scheduled. Can’t beat first person experience. Hopefully my replacements come quickly!!

I am fairly new to fpv quads and doing serious research on upgraded goggles. These are some serious contenders. Now I just have to decide for myself if I will utilize having the ability to use diversity receiver modules... hmmm.
@Sebijr5 жыл бұрын
I saw a comparaison side by side with the Hdo and image looks definately better. I only regret there is no bay for external module. Technology's module reception is improving and price will probably go down. The new TBS fusion is only 120usd. I would rather spend extra money to get the best reception
@UAVfutures5 жыл бұрын
this is a great point. what if they made one that had a module bay?
@Sebijr5 жыл бұрын
@@UAVfutures I will buy them for sure ! Orca is coming soon with was presented as the best new futur quality image goggles but if I'm not mistaken they will go for 650 USD. Way too expensive for most of us ! And I guess Skyzone could even offer a cheaper price as they won't have to include a diversity receiver. They will become the best value on the market. Thanks for reading me, I'm honored you answered me :)

I just got into FPV and I wanted to buy the DJI FPV Experience ones. How do you think these compare to the DJI ones?
@UAVfutures5 жыл бұрын
VERY VERY DIFFERENT, completely different tech, I think these are cheaper, lighter, fit better work with most current FPV drones etc, but the DJi have some high res magic in them that is also pretty cool.
@corduroycondom5 жыл бұрын
@@UAVfutures Thank you very much for the respone. Well yes, thats what I saw in a video from Le Drib, the quality is incomparable and the range seems to be better too.

Wow. This is a viable option to choose over the HDO, the signal looks pretty good as well. If it's compatible with future hd fpv systems, then I might consider it.
@srossi885 жыл бұрын
Looks good! I, like others, would like to see these with a module bay, but honestly they could simply offer it as a "core" version, no built in rx, sell it for $399... And then you basically have an HDO that's better and less money
@ple7y5 жыл бұрын
these seem awesome, comparing to my old Skyzone goggles. Been wanting to upgrade for a while now, but couldn't decide what to get, the price range is huge for quality goggles, even bigger for folks not living in the US, having their standard... all in all, whould like to have them :)

id you see my recent comparison vid between aomway skyzone and FS?
@ple7y5 жыл бұрын
@@UAVfutures i've seen a bunch of your videos including the comparison one, they've helped a bunch. my biggest problem with mine is the lack of integrated fan, especially here where the temperature got close to 40°C this summer, so i can say that the 1st thing i need in a new goggle set is a fan... so far i'm broke from buying all the new quad parts, and the goggles will sadly have to wait

I really like the fact that these have different face plates. I have a fat face and my fatsharks do pinch a bit. I have always wanted to put some heat to them and make it wider. Also I really like that I can get colors. I really may get the orange ones. I think the price is right as well. THese may just be my new sets. I dont go to races, just flying around where i live.For the price I think I may be buying these.

I was about to pull the trigger on some Skyzone 02c but now with the DJI FPV system that just came out I dont know what to do anymore. I might have to wait until next spring to make a decision.

Jono is so smart, solving the module bay issue with a dock station! That's what i would get and i bet it would still be cheaper than HDO plus rapidfire. I just wonder why the sky03O don't auto-switch between 4:3 and 16:9, that would make them complete.

I am just getting into the hobby and I'm curious as to what the benefits of head tracking are?
@tabdougherty85495 жыл бұрын
I have never had a problem with built in receivers. In the Aomway or skyzone goggles. Simple and always work, and the modules are plenty sensitive. And john was right about the docking option if you must have rapidfire and it would probably work even better mounted on a tripod instead of your head LOL. If money was not an object I would buy the HDO,s and rapidfire because I have never owned a fatshark set, The question is would I regret it? And end up buying the skyzone set the first time they went on sale anyway. Probably :}

Given the opportunity($$$) I would go with Skyzone. They are cheaper than the fatsharks but still offer a great all in one solution. However in my opinion the HDO's are more future proof being able to upgrade modules. I have the EV800D's at the moment and hope to upgrade in a year or so. Great review as always Stew!

HDO is still King. The O3O'S are a close second for those not doing long distance or are in environments with alot of multipathing. Oscar Liang just put out his vid and blog on the O3O and he says they have taken the crown. But it really comes down to which goggle works best for what YOU need them for... I would say it is super close and big ups to Skyzone for what they can acheive. Keep it up! You've now got alot of people's attention. What are you gonna do to keep it?! Innovation and usability is key.
