What motors are used on this quad? My Merica arrived today but I havent settled on motors. I have a few fresh sets of BH Deadpool R5 2306-2450's laying around, along with a Synergy F4/Unify pro v3/Nano and a T-motor F55a f3... use the Returners or up the kv to 2700, or just bit the 6s bullet? (dont really want to do that yet, lots of fresh 4s motors and packs left)

It sure makes you look good thru the gates. I've never seen you fly that clean. It's been about a "New Best" every week or 2 for quite a while, and it's no BS, seems like a huge move forward in quad design is happening. The rest of the components have been nearly maximized and now the attention has been turned to frames with phenomenal results. I'm glad I'm short of cash lately, I'd have a stack of very good frames I couldn't afford to build. I hope they are still available when I get around to picking one to build. So the Merica seems to be the one, it's that good a flyer that I think I could actually handle it at my skill level, some of the others seemed very fast, but a bit of a handful. This one looks to get a 10/10 from all 3 of you (30 SCGT points.) Nobody had a single bad thing to say about it, and that's a high bar to beat. It will be interesting to see what's next. Nurks (Paul) new Kratos frame looks promising, I almost popped for one, but it is sold out already. Thanks for another great test report.

I think you found your new favorite :) I love my Merica running F40 2600kv motors. Even my Hyperlite 2.0 running 2700kv motors doesn't come close to the agility and speed of the Merica. I just freestyle and like to hit tree gaps and dive but it is perfect for any type of flying you want to do. It has also been very durable.

I use the Spedix 4 in 1 on my Merica builds. I also have one with a DYS 20A that fits perfectly. Even the RF Bolt will work just fine with minor mod. The frame and the pod is sold seperately. Which I actually love because it makes it less expensive if you want to build more than one. Just build up the frame and the pod is detachable and plop it on your other frames. Amazing!

So what is it a custom order? you inquire with parts they have and get a quote? is thats whats going on? Sry for confusion or misunderstandings, just highly interested. Just from watching these vids Stu put out he makes he sound like yeah its a prebuilt ordeal etc etc. you order and thats it simple as that Meanwhile after talking to you and others it sounds like a A-la-carte custom build with the 'merica you have to custom inquire about it. Otherwise you can snag the frame yourself. Usually these vids its a test/review of something then heres the link to buy it. Stu says heres the link its a link to their main website and he doesnt clarify its frame only then either you build it yourself or have to have a "custom order" for a built one. Basically you can pick your build. There's not just one version. As we know there are many options available for each component. What they have done in the past is you can build your drone from any parts they have in their catalog. Raceflight? No problem. Betaflight? Done. Big horsepower motors? Easy. Light weight? Sure can! So..they don't have just a vanilla BNF version. It is truly a custom BNF version right now. I've been talking to them and there will be a link up later today or tomorrow on their page regarding the BNF option so stay tuned. These guys are top notch and you will not be disappointed! Adding caps is standard practice especially with 4in1 esc’s. They drastically suppress voltage spikes, clear up video and gyro noise etc

The frame and pod aren’t expensive (about $70usd I think), especially when you consider the quality, design and durability. Cheaper than a Chameleon! It only gets pricey when you buy them prebuilt (bind n fly).

Catalyst Machineworks will have their site updated shortly for a BNF version of the Merica. There is some confusion on this since it's not on their site yet. Basically, it's a custom BNF version that you build from parts that you choose from their site. If anyone is interested please email them directly and Neill will be happy to put together a plan and a price for you. Catalyst is top notch and you won't be disappointed. If you don't want a BNF version...then buy the frame and canopy and build your own. It's no more expensive than other other quality frames on the market. I'm not a sponsored pilot by CM...but I was fortunate to find them early in my FPV life and they have been nothing but helpful and I've never been disappointed in a product they've put out yet.
