I've seen numerous videos of Dara talking about the company, but in not one of those does he address the single most important aspect relating to the people who make this company possible...the drivers. Why is it that everything he says is about company profitability and NEVER ABOUT RAISING THE PAY OF DRIVERS? When I started driving for Uber 5 years ago I was getting $3.66 for most local rides in my town. Today I am still getting the same $3.66 for those rides. Yet UBER seems to be raising its profitability. Since when do people NEVER get a raise when the cost of everything else, from auto maintenance, insurance, food, rent, keeps going up. Very disappointed so far.

These are the question and answers that worth our time. 11:51 The time that you spent with our driver is really the time you spent with uber, so the driver is really the face of uber 12:13 When being asked about driver not getting paid enough, he said "we have three million driver partner around the world and there are some better disgruntled, all of them I think wan to make more money..., in general, I think the driver earning are going up and we have an increase in time and distance." 14:34 Is the competition for the driver starting to get rougher? he said "I think it is a bigger competition within the economic context, the economy is getting better and the unemployment rate is at an all-time low, so we have to compete against the economy for the driver. 18:45 When being asked about the growth rate of Uber ride, here is how he answers, "the overall growth rate is 67%, the ride business we haven't disclosed but you know it got to be at a healthy rate in order to have an overall business to be growing at 67% 22:38 What does CEO of Uber think about machine vs human, here is how he answer " machine augment human, the magic is like machine and human together are the thing that's better,....computer can't do it alone, and human can't scale. 24:28 When being asked about getting out of China and SEA, and focus on other regions, here is how he answers " we earn a position in every market that we can win...we want to have enough dry powder to win everywhere we are in. we are going to bet the leader in those market. 28:54 what is the long-term differentiator of uber eats ?" the magic is hardcore execution. Make sure the delivery is under 35 minute every time....I did not see anyone is as dedicated as we are. Recap. by uncle-J

What about the percentage Uber takes vs. the percentage that is paid to the driver. 3 yes ago they took 1/3 of the fee that passengers paid. 2022 UBER is taking more than 50% often fare

Listening to a lot of these interviews, with most CEO’s they ask about diversity and hiring people of color and women. When building a company is that an actual beneficial aspect of the company (getting different people and obtaining new perspectives? Or is it just the liberal agenda? I’d love to hear what people think...
@MoMo-00

I think it's portrayed as being diverse, but under the hood the base of it is really ticking off the box to fit the liberal agenda.
@brokejaw

Its not a liberal agenda, its a corporate agenda like any other bland corporation. "this thing everywhere, I see it, I use it". Does it actually create great work. No. Its the same boring stuff coming out of someone's mouth from a different color skin.

In florida uber raised passenger rates.. And raised their commission to 45% so the drivers do not get any more money. Gas has gone up from $2 to $3....uber for some takes 80% commission on surges

OldTrades , I've been driving for Uber more then 2 years and last 6 months I do Uber eats only. Yesterday 06.01 they cut off our fare approximately for 30%. I've contacted them today they answered: " yes they've changed our rate, which was always the subject to change." About our 🌟 rate. About 2 weeks ago I got an email from Uber, which says that one of my riders lately complaining that I was driving him in inappropriate way that my car even was jerking etc. If it happens again they close my account for good. But I don't drive people I drive food only. So his kind of information confirmed my thoughts that Uber makes up these kind of complainings etc itself porpusly, that to lower our 🌟 rating not always clients do that. They do this that to rid off of those drivers who have been working for them for long time. We know too much.

@OldtradesReviews
@OldtradesReviews 6 жыл бұрын
Terrible company. All the rates cant go up talk is such a lie...not only have they, but they due during every surge and people pay....many times 100-400% what else would they take...local cabs are $2.50 a mile/min....way more then even uber select. SO again what other option would customers of uber x have. if rates went up even 20% customers would still take it. And the ones that can not pay are probably the ones you do not want in your car anyway. Bottom line is drivers could be paid better by 20% commissions....Florida drivers really got the raw deal. Another thing that gets me is how the bulk of advertisements on google is always to recruit new drivers.... I have never seen ads saying things like take a uber select luxury ride....its always sign up and get a bonus hahaha

Uber needs a CEO that stops reducing a transportation service to an app and actually treat drivers like employees. Lockout unaccompanied minors and high risk passengers through background checks and make them submit a picture of their ID. Also if a passenger rating falls too low they have the same risk of being deactivated as drivers. No taking some varying commission on rates; 20 percent or less is all Uber needs to take and you can cut the rate for passengers a little, drive up the userbase and keep the drivers happy. Dara needs to spend at least a week behind the wheel driving on the app.

Listen Dara. K bottom line pal you need to factor in the true operating cost of a vehicle for us in order to provide quality service . You are the CEO and engineer you should understand that and stop trying to duck the issue. ! there's not enough money when we're stuck in traffic there's not enough money to pay for short rides Uber pool is a rip-off to driver's. It's a double use of our time we go to pick up. This is what you need to do!. Raise the base rate take your pick the bottom line is driver's need to get paid 35 to 40% more than you're making right now cross the board in order to purchase health care and other things they need to repair their cars and maintain quality service that you would like us to provide. let your handlers know that you need to raise the rates and stop putting your hand in the cookie jar and spending the money on stupid projects. Google doesn't need your app taken filter own you hear of Waze pool .🤗 You are paid to much money.maybe you and all the rest of the CEOs in this world should take a pay cut and see what it's like to try and really work for a living bunch of spoiled brats

This company is already public! Is it on the stock market no, but it already has investors in the company. Drives make their time available, make their vehicle available, and even make fuel available as an investment into the company for it to succeed. There are no other individuals attached to the company that are investigating there own assets into the company other then those that started the company. Payroll employees are not investigating anything into the company. Investing is a gamble, you get in with out knowing the out come, employees know what they are going to get for their time, because they have a garrented return on their investment, drives do not! The IPO is just going to add another hand into the pot that will need to be paid out. Drives are the back bone and Uber continues to lift heavy objects with out paying attention to their back. When backs break, there is a lot of hurt that will be felt.

Ride toward an expensive future 'Lack of improvements for a big consequence' "We believe you cannot be allowed to choose between being ripped-off by our ever rising fixed prices and left conflicted on whether it's worth the commute when needed. That's why Uber has cheatedly drained the pockets, off even its loyal users and will continue to do so by 2040 (perhaps into the next century, leaving Uber out-rivaled by fast growing rival taxi-ride systems). So far well over 10% of only our London trips are unaffordable! ____________________ Best of Luck Uber, with your non-user-friendly app and inconsiderable service as a whole.

Am appealing through this medium to the USA President elect & USA Department of Labor to look into the totality of salaries or payments that Uber Remits to its so called partner’s drivers. Uber in the recent days has become the modern day Slave Masters. Attorney General for the State of California observed this & dragged Uber into litigation. Investigations into this issue will reveal a lot of slavery and unethical activities on the side of Uber to their drivers who owned, fueled & maintained their vehicles. Uber needed to be transparent in the way they pay or remunerate their drivers. FBI, department of labor and employment commissions should please help to bail the drivers out of this slavery system. Uber’s Tax withholdings are questionable and needs IRS clarification & involvement. The slave masters used their money to buy their slaves but Uber spent nothing than its app & driving directions and harvest multi millions of dollars every day.

Watched a different interview with this man. Was pretty unimpressed. Didn't get the feel at all that he's driven and passionate about the company as a founder would be. He sounded more like a polished politician than a real person leading. This interview was a little better than the other one, but still don't like him as a CEO. An important part of running a business is the emphasis on the employees (drivers) and he doesn't seem to give two hoots about them. I do enjoy Kara's style of interviewing and cutting to the chase and asking real questions.
