The video doesn't just sound a word of caution, but educates as well. A must watch for swimming enthusiasts in our region. Thank you, Francis! :)

We are busy looking for a kid that got swept out here yesterday. Taking a break and was looking for a video to give to the resorts around here to show to their guests because it happens every damned Xmas and Easter here where I live. (Mozambique, Guinjata bay). Will most definitely suggest this video. Panic just causes exhaustion and that is deadly. I hope that they do show this to their guests as it is the best advice. Great video, thanks.

Around 10 years ago in Daytona Beach, this Canadian on vacay was not paying attention got caught in one of these, thought I had met my maker, finally remembered to swim parallel to the shore and was tossed back into the surf. Scary stuff

Wow, I used to play in the shallow water where rip currents form. I always liked how it feels when the water rushes past my ankles and back into the ocean. I never knew that was a rip current. 🤦🏾♀️😩

Education or brainwash? Not all situations is swimming parallel to the shore is feasible. Also here in the US, we use feet & yards, not meters.

I have been in currents in California and its not to hard to stay calm in it. But in jersey, the water gets deep quickly, so the waves are still all over you while ur in the current. Its a lot harder to stay calm when its like jersey
