I agree that everyone should have their own preferences on dating. But I think a bigger issue is those that are excluding their own race in the dating game. For example, nowadays a lot of western born black men completely refuses to date black women. The same issue is happening with western born asian women who also exclude their own race. I am fine with interracial relationships but I cannot stand people that exclude their own race purely based on self-hate and dislike of their own color.

Sadly, in East Asia that preference for white and light skin is ancient. That view is traditional is going nowhere. It is good to see people with colour not hating their ranges of colour after hearing such views for a long time. That view is pretty much a thing in most countries outside of the continent of Africa too.

Generally Chinese prefer lighter skin , this is because farmers and the poor ,works in the sun therefore have dark skin . Which represents hard work, little money n hard life. Lighter skin means the person sits in the office plus in the earlier days represents man of the courts n high position or rich . I agree with your friend that Chinese men are not very macho looking, the good thing is they are not violent nor forever trying to show their masculinity. I m sure by now you must notice that the Chinese men are hard working n take good care of his family. M Chinese from Malaysia. Do i like fair men - no cos i love the out doors , scuba diving, hiking, running etc so no fair looking men for me. Isn't it because there are various scholarships available and safety, which is equivalent to studying abroad for free, without spending any money, and even the scholarships cannot be used up, so that others can learn the language of your country. Seen a video just this week to be exact where this guy is breaking down the intricacies of skin colors! As a university graduate I had one class that dealt with modern society colorism! Where we learned that skin color and beauty was ascribed definitions and names by ethnicity by this racist German guy in the 1800's! I'm watching this guy in the video last week and I'm reminded of this class at university and we all have bought into this separatist color scheme ourselves! There's actually no black nor white people in the world! We're all shades of one color! In Genesis it says God formed man outta the dust of the ground on breathed life into him and he became a living soul..If we literally look at colors as I've as an artist for most of my life I can categorically say there's no human that's as black as the colors white and black! Even the folks we summarize as white are not white as the color white! Literally we've created our own biases by labelling ourselves black with different shades! Black earth is not a thing unless it's been mineralize with other substances.. There's no white dirt and no matter the depth we go in the earth it's still brown!
