Mr Dean, it seems like yesterday that I was a white belt studying your blue belt requirements vids. Now I'm a black belt and I'm still thoroughly enjoying what you're sharing with us all. Thank you, sir!

This guy is so smooth and has improved one of my armbars already. I would always look the wrong way and try to finish belly down instead of looking the other way and rolling them to their backs and getting the finish.

I like how he kicks his leg out first to help get the better angle to get the knee inside. I should certainly try that.

I always find little golden nuggets from watching Roy's videos. I have been training 13 years. Been a black belt for almost 3 now. I still catch little details or see new techniques. The knee tip, the leg whip, a version of that knee block, and posture block and bridge. The biggest thing I noticed, that he shows but doesnt highlight, that has changed my game, is going to flat belly now. The changing of your body's angle in relation to the floor and your partner is huge. I will be putting out a series on it soon.

Very nice how the two positions mirror each other from bottom side and knee on belly shin sweep. Potential energy is something I have made a recent study lately and thinking about the differences between potential energy and kinetic

I like how BJJ cherishes attention & awareness. It is incredibly similar to meditation in that aspect. (I am an avid, 2-year-so-far meditator.) Awareness & attention is the way to go!

When you do the side mount escape, what if the person on top switch their hips, when they feel the person’s elbow on the bottom going into position for the escape or when applying the elbow escape? In other words the person on top switch to kesa gatame to prevent the person on the bottom from using their bottom elbow to escape. ?

Be mindful of your partner's hand when doing the shin sweep. If you don't get rid of the posting hand before the sweep, your training partners' fingers might get broken. Prof. Roy does tell you to get rid of the posting hand by pushing him away but just thought of leaving this here.

Vast majority of these don't work while rolling let alone in a real fight. Almost all rely on inserting the knee, which is difficult to get done in a friendly roll, impossible in a street fight. Why it's such a difficult position.

hold proper SC first.... many of those stand escapes wont work on proper seasoned playersif yo understand how to pin correct.
