What an illuminating presentation!!!!! The most definitive informative I've seen on the topic.. Both Doctors clarified every question I've had pertaining to my own condition. Now I'm actually looking forward to my coming surgery with Dr. Livhits rather than being scared to death. Thank you both!!!

This is so helpful. All the information for this disease is very confusing. I have been watching my “borderline” levels for several years and now have osteoporosis. I am going to ask for surgery right now! Thank you!!!

Excellent informative presentation that really educated me. I have elevated PTH and calcium that usually does not flucuate beyond 10.3 and PTH about 85, and age 73. My endo does not seem to think I should get any surgery, but I do feel fatigue and lots of aches and pains and have ostopenia now in forearm. Been diagnosed with it now for over 6 years ago. Watchful waiting, as I also have treated Graves Disease over 30 years now. I wish I lived in CA to be evaluated by them! They seem so

I am so grateful for these videos. I have been trying to find reliable information about this, but find it hard to weed out potentially unreliable sources *cough* Norman *cough*

He does have a pretty solid App called calcium pro. That suggests that I probably have it. Mr Norman however says I dont have it even though I came down with all the Symptoms, so will Probably see Baback Larian from UCLA for surgery. He is another solid surgeon. Don't Wait 7 years for surgery like I did. More risk of adverse outcome. Why did I wait? Lost thousands of dollars to low life scammers Last year I had 16k in my TD investment account Unfortunately I was robbed at Gunpoint by 2 big Niggs. I found they're pictures and plates and gave to the Toronto police , and still no arrest. Im not your average patients I also had a heart transplant 23 years ago

My doctor informed me that my PTH is 146 with calcium 12.3 repeated tests. This was found on labs when I was hospitalized last month for 7mm kidney stone and stent placement for twisted tube. Doctor thought it would decrease after surgery but on 2nd and 3rd labs it showed increase to 146 and 12.3 today. Thank you for this video it has eased my mind on treatment and also the symptoms that I have been having for 4 + years were not all in my head.

Outstanding presentation! We'll rounded information. However, do you see ENT physicians also perform parathyroid surgery? This is who will be performing mine. Thank you!

2 things how long if I do get surgery does it take to recover from surgery. How many doctors and how many locations in the U.S. actually do surgery for this condition? Thanks for the informative video..

Doctor wants me to wait a month and repeat parathyroid test. Then if it's still high (71) to see an endocrinologist. In the mean time I feel like I'm becoming crippled with bone pain and cramps in my hands and legs. What should I do please
@janeshipley6993 Жыл бұрын
i was told by the specialist endocrinologist who did my surgery to absolutely not watch and wait. what you’re experiencing seems to be good evidence for that. good luck to you.

I also wonder if D3 and K2 might be. Helpful. For parayhyroid disease. One study found bone stimilition was helpfull with osteoporose and muslce mass

The latest research that I've read, shows that medications designed to remove calcium from the blood does not prevent osteoporosis. Even if you remove calcium from the blood the tumor on the parathyroid gland still causes it to produce too much parathyroid hormone or pth. The extra pth still pulls calcium from the bone and causes the gut to try to make more calcium available.

what about if the calcium level is high in a 24 hour urine test, but is the normal level in blood test, my hyper parathyroid level is reading normal, but I get hot and cold, not flashes but my temperature seems unregulated?

I was just dx with inappropriately normal calcium at low to mid 9's and PTH that runs between 97 and 123. My Vit D ranges from 11-20. I have a hx of kidney stones (15 years ago) and calcium deposits in my elbow for which I had surgery. The kidney stones and surgery for calcium crystals in my elbow occurred PRIOR TO my bariatric surgery. Around here it takes THREE months to get into see an Endocrinologist. When I take vitamins, Vit D mostly.... I feel super dizzy. I just turned 52 yesterday and have probably had this 15-20 years but my bariatric surgery masked it for awhile. My dad died of a pituitary tumor that turned into encephalitis about 8 months prior to having the medical system to do a pituitary excision. He was 32. My mother had her thyroid removed when we were kids - had the long neck scar side to side. My sister Mary died at 44 a few years ago. Before she died she had a pitutiary tumor, hyperparathyroidism and type 2 diabetes. She was on dialysis and the entire health made it necessary for her to be on a urinary bag the last year of her life. She died suddenly. My sister Suzy, age 47, has had hyperparathyroidism and has been diagnosed but the doctors NEVER TOLD HER. Suzy also had bariatric surgery which masked the illness for about 12 years. My sister Rachel, age 50, has the high calcium, low D and high normal PTH. It is likely that we have familial hyperparathyroidism and maybe MEN1. We don't know yet. I am waiting to get into see an endocrinologist. My doctor diagnosed me 2 days ago. It is likely that all 3 of us girls need surgery. We have alerted everyone in our bio family that they all need to be tested. Doctor, do you want to do a triple family surgery day?

Thank you for sharing I have a pituitary tumor too and now borderline hypothyroidism and hyperparathyroidism. I say borderline because my lab values are in the high normal but my vitamin D is below 20. I'm only 32 and they've suggested I dont get surgery and live with low vitamin D because "i am too young." I'm really confused to what to think. They've also implied my feelings of depression and low energy with fatigue is "all in my head." Any similar stories out there?

Well, when you have better success to identify the troubling pituitary adenoma during operation and, successfully removed it without causing collateral damage (may be you can shoot us another video for how you accomplish it 😉 , if you don’t mind share your secrect) ; the other ‘once non-functional’ micro adenoma may grow its evil horns, and replace the bad one that you surgically removed. whould you consider prophylactic surgery a good idea? Or just go back when the hyperparathyroidism returns?

Great video but what if your calcium is normal & urine is normal but parathyroid is elevated infact all my blood test come out normal except the parathyroid for years. I'm 68 & blood pressure is normal. No thyroid. I just had a bad bone density test. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

it's not hard to pin point. docs are too quick to judge people, especially women. it's all in your head i've heard all my life and now at 62 i have a broken back. at no point did anyone ever look at pht. so stop. just phkng stop. and btw maybe, just phkng maybe, ignoring pht helps people get no where on psych drugs. but what the phk would i know????????
