I would be interested of different names of bear in udmurtian and hungarian language as well… it seems that bear was so sacred creature that us finnish at least avoided to say his name aloud. Thus many euphemisms were used. Even russians call bear as honey eater and original slavic name could be close to arktos.

Today I watched a video from a finno-ugric people in the frontier of Russia and Estonia called setos. Then I found your video about Udmurtia and found it wonderful. Your English pronunciation is very clear for a person like me whose mother tongue is Spanish. I learned reading and writing not in Spanish but in German at the Swiss School in Lima. Vowels in German and Spanish sound the same way every time. When I learned English I found that grammar was very simple but not fonetic because vowels sound very different all the time. In your case I was able to understand 95% of your speech. Thank You very much and Congratulations. Your video is fantastic

Are people of Udmurt Russians or they speak a different ethnic language? What religions do people follow in Udmurt? Where do Russian speaking Russians live in the Russian Federation?
@mjv888311 ай бұрын

@@elenastravels Thank You for the reply, i find Russia a amazing place, such a big country! When i was in school in the 1980s we did not learn much about Russia, those days it was stil the USSR, our own country was in the height of Apartheid, us white folk had to go for two years in the Army, i was in the war with Angola and the only Russian things i ever saw was captured weapons from Russia and former eastern block countries! I am from Boer heritage or south african Dutch heritage, if you look into our own history, Anglo Boer War, You wil find we had a few Russians on our side fighting against the British, lol thats all in the pass now! i find Russian people to be like our Boer people, only Your language very difficult to learn! love Your Channel!

That was a fun, interesting, and informative video. Thanks for your good work. Perhaps you could do a video on how some traveler would get to Udmort. That is, if someone lived in New York, or London, or Amsterdam, exactly how would they get to Udmort? And where would a traveler stay, and what might they do in Udmort? Some people like to sample all the food, others want an outdoor experience, some want to meet the locals. Tell us where and how. You have a very engaging style, many folks would view just to hear you describe things.

From Brazil: Great video, explained very well the curiosities and historical aspects... and I love videos from people and cultures that are still alive and resisting ... my family for example came from Venice to Brazil a century ago, that time Venice region was an own country .. and even nowadays in Venice region people speak the Venetian language and desire the independence from Italy... well, the challenge is inviting young people to be part and avoid this culture disappearing.. I believe is still time for doing it... well ..congratulations for the video and the channel.. anything you need, you can call me..see you

Only if the peoples themselves want it. It's no use trying to keep alive cultures that are already dead because of central governments and international agencies central policies.

Thank you for your comment, Gui! I haven't heard about Venetian language - very interesting. I think people should share those things and preserve their cultures. The more people are aware of this, the better. All the best to you :)
