I was there on saturday, and I can tell you guys that people were really happy. I was out of my mind! I didn´t booed Forrest and Schaub, I like those guys, but people were just so carried away with the show, that some boos occured, sometimes even for brazilians! But it was great: we did the wave, shouted soccer songs, everyone stomped their feets and it felt like the arena was gonna fall!!! That was such a great night. You guys from the states have the UFC almost the entire year. Brasil S2 UFC!

@unab84 pretty sure his last 3 oponnents didnt want to trade with him, but as they say, every fight starts standing up. hes so good striking that you cant even get in range of a takedown without getting punished. I would REALLY like to see gsp(best takedown guy in the world) against silva(best striker in the world), would be a deadly combo.

@mikemontana1990 You have some points but the only fighter other than Diaz that I think could give GSP a war is Condit because theyre teammates and because he is a savage finisher. Middleweight is certainly weak, im hoping Stann can get a shot, it would be exciting to watch him stand with silva. But GSP is a league above all at welter, he should move up with the big boys.

I'd love to see GSP v Silva, but the weight difference is a huge deal. Anderson is so dominant, any new match up has to be thought out articulately. Should GSP go up a weight class or should Anderson go up in weight class to fight Jones? I like the Jones fight better. I don't see anybody beating Silva at this point in his career

@stockmaster1982 The Fedor vs Hendo fight was NOT an early stoppage. When Dan Henderson hits Fedor with the uppercut, Fedor goes limp and burrys his face into the canvas. That sounds like a fair stoppage to me.

Idont think dropping hand and show his chin will work with gsp.you can say what you want about gsp but hes more well rounded then Silva.Each time Silva realy own a fight it because the oponent dont really go at him and if you show to Silva your afraid or you wait to counter him he will tunt you and pull the trigger you going to the floor,Sonnen did the right way but he didnt have enough skill to win the fight.Honestly i like both fighter Silva and Gsp and i know that will be a hell of a fight

@tillman40 The UFC never could get a tv deal in Brazil until 2 years ago, Dana does the same thing everywhere, markets the sport on tv, shows a few events or past events and see how big the market is, even guys like Shogun and Anderson were saying MMA/UFC wasnt that popular in Brazil until a few years ago...Football and BJJ was, not MMA...

Silva did'nt have his black belt in BJJ at this time so Takese was able to win the fight using takedowns, effective ground and pound, and eventually finished silva with a choke. On June 8th. In 2004, he became the cage rage champion and defended the title up untill he left for the UFC. He fought in pridd On Dec 31, 2004, Anderson got caught by a flying scissors heel hook.

@SpiderSugaRushShogun when he rematched hughes and serra he hadnt cleaned out the division yet. As far as that BJ rematch, that was for ppv income for the UFC, and after he beat Koscheck and shields all that is left is for him to either beat diaz and move on or lose to diaz and get a rematch to get his title then move up. In my opinion the best two challengers for GSP at 170 are Fitch and diaz, and if GSP beats diaz then its pointless to prove your best p4p by rematching. Move up GSP!

i wouldnt say the brazilian fighters were set up with easy fights BUT i do think they were all given fights that gave them a good chance of winning. The UFC didnt want to hold an event in brazil for the 1st time and have alot of brazilian fighters lose. So i think they did set the card up to where they felt that at least most of the brazilian fighters would win, if not all of them.

@brandonrussell79 Because, all things being equal, the bigger man will win most times - GSP is 4 inches shorter and has a slight reach disadvantage in that fight aside from the weight. Id like to see the fight, and I like GSP, but I dont htink hed have more than a lucky chance at beating Silva. His chin is also slightly suspect since Serra, the bjj guy. knocked him out. Silva's striking is pinpoint and he certainly looks faster than GSP as well.

Lutter, Irvin, Cote, and Leites were ALL STILL top 10 fighters when they fought Anderson Silva. You do know that when they fought Silva for the belt, they were the No.1 contenders, right?The guys Fedor fought (like Hong man choi, Big foot Silva, Kosaka, Yuji Nagata, Wagner Martins) were'nt even in the top 10 when Fedor fought them.

Anyone who's seen Fedor fight in the past, will universally recognize him as the greatest fighter of all time. He was all around fighter that can finish in spectacular fashion. Anderson Silva is a joke, but we all know Dana is going to promote him since he's the best guy in the UFC right now.

@chadley6916 They are both champions, they don't do catch-weights when to champs fight. I love GSP, he's a great WW, but he has nothing to offer Silva that he hasn't seen already. Silva finishes his fights in spectacular fashion, GSP gets UDs. I just don't see GSP beating a Silva who walks around at 210 and with the fast hands that have beat a whose who of MW fighters. Silva has made a fool of everybody he's fought, hasn't lost in the UFC ever. Throw some evidence if you think GSP could beat him

@uddaside well like i said, the fans usually choose who the best p4p fighter is.. But if u were to ask me, there is no real way to find that out.. Unless we have a match between all the greats from each weight class, it be hard to predict. Personally p4p really doesn't exist. If GSP beats Anderson Silva, it doesn't mean he's the best p4p fighter, or if Jones or Cain beats Silva it doens't mean they are the best.. p4p just doesn't exist.. So we should just not talk about it, and let fans decide!

His debut was against Chris Leben who was on a 6 fight win streak and he was a top 10 MW fighter. Then he fought and beat Rich Franklin twice who was the most dominent MW champion at the time. From there on, Anderson fought and beat every No. 1 contender in the MW division. Plus, went up to 205 and defeated James Irvin and Griffin who were both top 10 at the time.

@ufcpride93 Silva is naturally a big man.. Before he trained in mma, he was an overweight 245 pound man, with a belly the size of Roy Nelson's belly.. So he is a naturally big guy, and it was only after getting really lean to around 195, did he look good. He is a naturally bigger guy than most of the lightheavyweights, and he's certainly bigger than Fedor. Fedor only weighs more, but he's not really bigger, plus Fedor is kinda a chubby, and most of it is fat, not lean muscle or bones.

Do you mean to tell me losing to Hendo and Werdum makes Fedor the "greatest of all time." ? Since 2006, Anderson has fought and beat EVERY top 10 MW fighter out there. On top of that, he made it look easy. Fedor did'nt always fight someone who was top 10. He fought in second tier organizations.

Silva is exciting sometimes and sometimes he's boring? Why do you think, Dana White said he's upset with some of his performance? Have you not seen his fight agaisnt Demian Maia, and the other Brazilian fighter.. It was a boring decision win, and it got all the fans boo him.. I have yet to see a boring Fedor fight. So Fedor is above Silva!

@disgustika Explain how it was an embarassing event? I have been to 113 in Montreal and 129 in TO, and Toronto blew it away. Just because GSP didn't finish doesn't mean the whole event sucked, since I figured that was reasoning.
