The only credit I could muster for Jake is his ability to strike out hard when boxing as a sport was against the ropes. The sport didn’t get the Joshua/Wilder fight and many other fights that should have been made in that 2016-2022 time period. He seized the opportunity and became a PPV star on his popularity and ability to cherry pick and manipulate the clauses in his bouts. You can’t knock him for being business savvy and stacking the odds in his favor to win aka Floyd Mayweather. Now, he’s chosen Mike and albeit a very aged and out of the ring Mike, but he’s not going to challenge any of the top level competitors in the world class status at HW. Andy Ruiz, Big Baby Anderson or even guys in the lighter division who are at the top. If he had the balls he said he does and really wants a challenge why not call out Canelo, David Benevidez, Arthur Beterbeiv or a Dimitri Bivol to a fight? Pretty sure he’d try to wedge in clauses that place him at severe advantages against these guys. Advantages that would be so unreasonable only a fool would sign the contract unless being paid to dive. No denying he has taken the craft serious but his lack of actually signing on and challenging the active competition in his weight class speaks louder than his weak trash talk.

Behind the curtain, Tyson really likes Paul and appreciates the opportunity to make 20+ million in this fight. He has said openly that he loves the man. Yes, Jake is NOT a pro fighter, but a smart businessman. The outcome is already determined. Call it a fix or whatever but Paul wins and also makes a truckload of $$$$$. My guess a decision is scripted so Paul doesn't lose fans via a KO.
