No, Pav showed his gastank is pretty good, needed to see that. He took his time, so he's learnt from Aspinall. But it's like he wants to be boxing heavy, and hasn't worked on his MMA. HW division, easy to get away with, especially if you're KOing everyone within 2 minutes. But you could see the low kicks, especially the first one, wrecked his equilibrium. He struggled in how to tackle the reach disadvantage. He chose to eat jabs but then didn't seem to know how to benefit from once he's gotten in close. Unleash, get past Volkov's first evasions. Considering how cautious Pav was being, Volkov didn't really capitalise on it, did seem to be looking for the counter and teeps keeping the attack at bay. Was it the first round they gave Sergei? Fair call, he was the aggressor... Volkov was reacting, looking for the counter... Volkov's damage then started to accumulate and Sergei's hits weren't all clean. And as we can see, jabs that aren't really doing anything gets you a beat up face. It is what it is, nothing spectacular going on. It's not about picking wrong. We're finally learning more about Pavlovich, and his adaptability is proving a weak point, not his skill, his toughness, his finishing ability. That is all still there. But if guys technically go after him in avoiding clean hits... they all stand a chance because he hasn't rounded out his MMA enough. Still on the Sergei train, even if it is held up at the station for a bit... hopefully heading back out soon.
