This is the first line up of the band l saw live, and they were absolutely magnificent. Very sad to think that we've lost three of them, all far too soon. RIP.

The Old Grey Whistle Test is on the new Obsession?? What date is Obsession 2024 released?

I thought the new live version of the upcoming release of "Obsession" was at the Agora Ballroom in Cleveland

This is for the serious rocker. At 2:20 you can see bass player Pete Way's undone fly with some schlonage poking around.

Well this is a live performance from 1979 at the studios of the British TV show ‘Old Grey Whistle Test’ in Britain. So definitely not in Cleveland. Looks to be Paul ‘Tonka’ Chapman on guitar. (but you don’t see his face so I’m not 100%) Chapman was the 1st replacement for the recently departed Michael Schenker, who played on the original recording of this song, so that would make sense. What is weird is why they are playing this ‘old’ number and not something from the ‘Wild Willing and the Innocent’ record which was the first post-Schenker album featuring Chapman. If I had to guess… I’d say this is the period of time after the departure of Schenker but before the WW&theInnocent was recorded….so they’ve brought in Paul Chapman and they are bringing him up to speed whilst fulfilling the OGWT contract. You didn’t back out of a chance to be on that show…the waiting list was a probably year even if you were a big act.

Definitely old grey whistle test. I'm sure it's Tonka Chapman, he had a firebird. No place to run was his first album with ufo. One of the great bands ever.
