Master Duel is basically a coin toss format right now

Ranked is really a pain in Master Duel, because there are so many FTKs running around right now. That’s why I‘m not a fan of the Bo1 format. In a Bo1 you can get away with much more cheesy tactics and FTKs, because a normally constructed deck just can’t have the answers to all the BS that the opponent might be up to, especially if you‘re going second

it's not a coin toss but its a 2 turns game, but there are a lot of skill involved in those 2 turns, specially when you playing meta vs meta. The problem is when you play a rogue or tier 3 deck, and obviously they have all the answers to stop you without not that much skill gap. Cyber Stein FTK is just a fun deck and its not relevant for the format.

The reason I suggested that it's a coin toss format is because there are no competitive decks which prefer to go 2nd. There are decks which can go 2nd but it's not to their advantage to do so.

@@SeanVS numeron is a going 2nd deck and its very competitive in a BO1 format. It's not considered meta cause the biggest data base is master duel meta website but that website have more tournament BO3 format oriented, also tribrigade can go 1st or 2nd, of course you want go first but that does not mean "i win cause i won the coin flip", the reason is cause BO1 format, even before and TCG , OCG most of players prefer go first and that happened like a lot.

@@gorilamvp I have to disagree. Master Duel Meta is an amazing website and I love their articles. However, as their tier lists include data from tournaments playing formats different to online ranked I try not to use them. That being said, even in my own independent research of BO1 tournaments, Numeron has never topped once.

@@gorilamvp To clarify a little more, my thoughts on this being a coin flip meta is because of the prevalence of FTKs that would likely lose if they go 2nd. This is supported by the fact that all meta decks also want to go first. In previous formats, you could play into trends such as this by playing decks which prefer to go 2nd. Dinosaurs, Mekk-Knight Invoked, Sky Striker are a few examples. However, those decks are not powerful enough currently to contest the meta. You could also build current decks to be more "go second builds". Check out the video im releasing today to see decklists of tournament players running 1x Harpies, 2-3x Lightning Storm, 2-3x Droplets, 3 Maxx C, 3 Ash and maybe Gamma/Nibiru/Belle. HOWEVER, all of these decks building that way STILL prefer to go first given the choice. It's a coin flip meta. Going 1st is better than Going 2nd.

@@SeanVS well idk why but there is a lot of data with more than 70% win rate and that's more than any deck, its different if you run a tournament than ladder format cause you just need a big win rate instead of a deck with access to win everything you cannot compare a BO1 tournament vs a ranking laddering
