2008 Toyota RAV4 Trailer Wiring Installation

My 2008 RAV4 limited wiring is different then in this video. The plug for this kit goes directly to the passenger side turn signal , located further into the tail light assembly. I followed the directions in this video. The plug fit, just under the panel, it didn't work though.

Im thinking about using the power and ground from the rear 12v power point that's in that left rear panel.
