2011 Toyota RAV4 Trailer Wiring Installation

I had U-Haul install a trailer light controller several years ago on my 2011 RAV4. It was done just like this video. I moved to British Columbia, the trailer light controller power wire had to be removed from under the car to pass the provincial safety inspection, so now no trailer. Personally I think this method of running a power wire, even if fused, is either dumb and or just plain lazy . Now I need to use a trailer, so I have to reinstall the power wire, I will look for a better way of doing it than illustrated here, I hope I can do it without going under the car.

If you haven't done it yet, use the aux power supply/cigarette lighter plug on the driver side. You might have to upgrade the fuse that feeds it (add at least 5 amps) since that plug is most likely only pulling 3 amps.

@@rideredRC51 Yup, cosine red that, rated at 10A. I ran wire inside under the door cil trim, I just have 2 splices to install and then done.
