I thought eels were good eating. Why’d you let that big guy go? I notice you release a lot of things that I assume many would keep. Could you explain your strategy? Some days it seems like you haven’t left with much of anything, but you let some decent things off.

@@lordtarzan13 John believes in catch and release and only keeps the odd 1 or 2 ....helping to hopefully replenish the stocks, I do the same as I only take what I need and let he others go . Hope this answers your question Shane mate ...tight lines bud and always stay safe

Robert Nicholson I can certainly understand that for many of the smaller scenarios, but that was a beautiful eel wasn’t it? Seems like quite a lot of time and money to be out on his days off, away from the family. With a young lad at home. Not to make the most of the catches, if you know what I mean.
@TheFishLocker
@TheFishLocker 4 жыл бұрын
Shane A - You don’t need to take everything you catch. That is why the fishing in these areas is better than in most parts of the country. I fish for pleasure and if I catch something special that we really enjoy. Or something will not survive being returned. Then I take it home. Eels are not very good eating.

@@TheFishLocker I also fish for pleasure and it also helps me mentally as I suffer from depression due to my illness .... plus helps with stress relief also caused by my illness . I don't get out half as much as I would like too 😔 as I've been letting my illness take over my life ....but from now on I'm going to take charge and go fishing again and carry on blanking 😂😂😂😂 . For me though a fish is just a bonus anyway as just getting out doing what I love and more so now what I've been missing for to long now . So anyway John mate ...tight lines and full 🦀 and lobster pots and stay Safe lad 👍👍👍

Nice days angling John Got out myself on Thursday, 7 different species, a 5lb ling being the best of the day Red Gurnard babies provided the most amusement catching them 2 at a time in 90 feet on sabinki's trying for launce, had over a dozen beautiful fish, stunning, caught a really big pouting as well, 3 nice ballen wrasse, whiting and mackerel plus a couple of pollock, my target species was plaice, none taken though, it blow up early evening, and as we where only 300mtrs from the rocks on drifts it was time for shore and home, ling tasted lovely in a beer batter, small baby potatoes and mushy peas. Stay Safe bud, Hannah and James also, keep it lit.👍 and tight lines.

Pouting!!! I like eating em but I always salt the fillets and leave em overnight in the fridge and the meat gets a bit more solid, get it in batter deep Fry it and bingo a meal fit for a king All washed down with a Pint of Tetley Bitter 😋😅

Hi John, sorry I have not been commenting lately, I'm still watching. Hope you and yours are doing well. I strangely enjoy catching pouting over wrecks/reefs like that. Always want to see if I can pull up a monster. A 5lb pouting would be something else.

If your looking for replacement tackle the next time you see a metal detectorist on the Beach speak to them because we find a crap ton of weights and hooks when doing the beaches and most of it goes in the bin it would be good to see it reused

Great video. I've never used a buoy with an anchor before. I take it that if the anchor gets snagged and the breakaway breaks the anchor buoy could slide over the anchor so I guess it would be a case of just heading back to pick it up? Thanks

Great video as always, Could you do me a favour on a video mate? i practically live in the Cornish water when im down, surfing, snorkelling etc, i've a phobia of sharks, i know there is porbeagle, blue shark, threshers and often mako. Could you explain in your experience what there actually is and maybe have a day trying to catch anything close to the shore? it would make an interesting video. Keep up the great work and videos.
