Why is the Tesco not aware that as a foreign student they can only give the student 20 hours max...and why is the tesco not fined for enabling the student to work more than 20 hours.

I feel terrible for the woman from Moldova. She escaped from someone who was hurting her, and while I understand that they legally have to send her back, they didn't have to publically announce her existence the fact that she was going back there. They should have just omitted her from the show. No one goes so far as to flee to another country to escape someone hurting them unless their life is at risk, and after that episode aired there was was a chance her abuser can find out about her.

I really felt bad for the Indian student at the beginning. I'm aware that there are some immigrants who take advantage of a student visa simply just to work. However, I've met many other foreign students who don't come from rich families (who typically make up the foreign student body) and couldn't get that coveted scholarship so they simply join the ranks of many of the native working class and contribute to society while also going to school.

It's the law. On a student visa you're only allowed to work a max of 20 hours a week. Anything over, and you're breaking the rules, which means you can get your visa taken away. I know there are rules, but that is absolutely ridiculous for not giving him another chance. He needs the money to study and work in the UK and they think 20 hours per week is enough for a living. There are much more bad things happening in the customs and world but they reject someone who is trying to get a better life for himself and maybe his family by studying and working longer hours. Another chance would be more humane.
@scottcol23
@scottcol23 3 жыл бұрын
@@_HeyItsCoool Their whole explanation is that foreign students are required to have a sponsor that takes on the full bourdon of paying for their tuition, travel, lodging, books, and food. The allowance of 20 hours per week to work is to allow for internship and of course personal pocket money. here in the US foreign students are only allowed to work 20 hours a week and it has to be on campus for the first year, They can work 40 hrs a week when the classes are out for the summer. After the first year you can work off campus up to 20 hrs a week.

@@scottcol23 yes I understand where you are coming from. But at least give that man another chance. A warning and if he is caught then send him back, as he was an actual student and not there only working like some people. All they cause him is his time, money(tuition fees, books and so on) , effort(working to support himself, not given the best in life and trying to get a better life) and sacrifices ( he could have stay home but he decided to work more hours and study at the same time, he may have sacrificed his fun time and joy uni experience). University takes students based on merit from all over world....more than foreginers more less the chance there citizen's get to study. So they make sure only genuine students with financial capability and those who can study can enter so that an citizen or another person can have chance to study than these people who work or not there to study.....that why work rule is made. I studied in MIT USA and nearly 2 indians were deported because they didn't attend 1 year...they had education visa and where working....2 Seats could have gone to someone who deserves the seat

I worked full-time the entire time I was in college plus carried a full credit load of 14 to 17 hours per semester. I had parents who couldn’t help me pay for it. And I graduated with a 4.2 gpa and was awarded at graduation because I had the highest gpa of working students. I came home after a 3-11 shift and spent 2 or 3 hours studying each night. I’d sometimes pick up extra on the weekends so my week was focused on classes and clinical. I think it’s a stupid rule and I felt sorry for the student. The students are working 4 years at most. And they aren’t taking high demand jobs. Often the opposite.

American dude really spoke way too much and ended up sharing information that was used against him. The moment he told them their intention is to get married, it was game over for him. All he has to do is to keep his mouth shut and just told them that he wanted to enjoy time with his girlfriend in the UK, do some sightseeing to get his mind off from hard basketball season and go back to the US right afterward. They can always deny him for possibly low funds, but as an American citizen with no prior issues on entry (assuming that otherwise, they will bring it up in the show), those may not be enough reasons to deny the visa. Marriage is a big deal considering she was an EU citizen and he got very little money from him meaning it will be hard for UK immigration to remove him if they allow him entry and he overstays. The worst thing is once you get denied entry, it remains on your record pretty much forever and may be used against you next time if you travel to the same country and even to other countries. Lesson learned -- do some homework before traveling and know what type of visa you are going on. Also, only reveal as little information as absolutely needed.

OMG, self supporting students is not even given a chance?!!! I never comments to any video I've watched ever since, but how come UK don't even give them a chance.. Mr. Singh is stuying and wanted to graduate, so self supporting him self by working with the more than the allowed work limit is not permitted...so unfair... and you think that amount of money he earned is so huge...!!! I know there is a rule, then why not give them scholarships maybe, to better their lives,...

The reason - I think - is by working overtime than allowed, the chance for native population to get the same employment will be reduced. But there should be some nuanced laws, like, cancelling visas only for breaking the law outrageously.

still if they won't give chance to people like him, then how they can better their life?.. such a sad story, we never know if also he supports his family back to his country and study at the same time, these border staff don't even analized everything, just to prove only that he is a immigration officer, they didn't care about other poeples life..

Bro these countries do not give a fuck if people like you and I think it's unfair to get deported if you work more than you are entitled,these fools would give a Visa to a person they think has sufficient money in their native country to fund their expensive education in their shitty ass U.K country,in other words they let you in cause you are going to spend bucks and strenghten their economy,not because they think you are a hard worker and would manage to make enough money to pay your college inside England.

Its so retarded! Like wtf just ship them back or put them in hard jail for a few months and they will naturally say where they are from. They let them go and they will just catch another truck and then get in. cause not all of them are checked.

The Moldovan woman is just so honest and calm... well, considering the double standard, i was counting on hysteria, accusations, and the false victim act. Oh wait, there it is, right on cue when caught. Who thinks acting 'sweet' means she's NOT doing more than cleaning beds. One look at the manager and her snug uniform explains why she's there. For 10K he'll just import another... "maid" from another country where she's been practicing her only employable skill.
