The old lady of Threadneedle (BOE MPC!) street holds rates i wonder what the monetary policy committee discussed or how the discussion went? They must of said? China (2nd largest economy on earth) is in the middle of a 2008 style property crash? The German economy is struggling and deindustrilising and the government have collapsed? France is in economic turmoil also and the government are teetering on collapse? Same thing again in Canada? The markets and investors are currently loosing faith in Brazil’s governments fiscal plans? And our own economy just contracted yet again and the public are rapidly loosing faith in the PM and his chancellor? So we think it will be a good idea for us to hold interest rates? 🤡

OOH inflation is at record levels due to high interest rates. Increasing cost for mortgages, loans, businesses, car purchases. This has a knock on effect of higher rents, business cost ect. In canada, lowering interest rates by 1.75% is actually helping to reduce inflation. We had inflation all over the world due to there not being enough supply, not due to excess demand.
