Five people, including a child, died while trying to cross the English Channel from France. The deaths occurred when an overcrowded small boat carrying around 110 people set out to cross one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world. According to authorities, after hitting a sand bank, the boat made it back out to sea. A crush then appears to have happened on board the overcrowded boat, leading to several casualties. The tragedy occured hours after the UK Parliament passed a much-delayed bill to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda in a bid to deter the dangerous crossings. It is the latest in a series of such tragedies as migrants, many from the Middle East and Africa, attempt the perilous sea crossing for what they hope will be a better future in Britain. So far this year at least 15 people have died trying to reach English shores,

That would be Frances fault and Europe, who is letting them into Europe in the first place ? 🤔 These people are leaving a perfectly safe country (France), they pass through many safe countries. Is France doing the search and rescue ?

This all happened on a French shore with French police looking on. It is recorded on TV footage. Why didn't the British rescuers take all these migrants back to France since it was there the crime was committed? From the TV footage it was obvious the crimes were committed yards from the French shore with French police looking on. And why didn't the French pursue and arrest all of them? Then the perpetrators wouldn't get away with their crimes. Is it so bad in France that French police would just look on as violence leads to death on their shores and do nothing? Is France a safe place for the Olympics?

I'd stay away from the Olympics. If they can't stop them from getting into the water there's nothing more they can do. Any attempt to stop them or try to turn the boat around risks the boat capsizing. Allso the average French policeman is not amphibious.
