My grandparents lived in Lucknow and I have very fond memories of staying with them and of the city itself. Lovely food and beautiful Mughal monuments as it was the one time capital of that empire. LOVED this episode - brought back so may memories of our travels in India. You've probably already passed through the Jaipur area by now but if not - one place we explored a few years ago was Bagru village. It's off the tourist trail (or at least it was when we went 11 years ago) and the entire village is devoted to the art of hand block printing with elements practiced in different houses throughout the village from dying of the fabric, carving the wooden blocks for printing and hand printing. It was one of the most interesting experiences of all our years of travel! Maybe you'll be able to visit one day too! xx

Least year, my wife and I drove back to England from Istanbul where we are currently working. We were in our Volvo XC90 and entered 13 countries in 3 weeks. Road trips like this are a favourite of ours even when, like you, there are technical difficulties to overcome. For us our AC packed up during one of the hottest summers on record. But a small backstreet garage somewhere in Croatia sorted out the problem and got us back on the road. We will back in Istanbul in August so can't make your party 🥲 I'm afraid. Until then we'll be following your journey with jealous interest.

I can’t believe you went all that way, were SO close to one of the 7 wonders of the world but didn’t go inside to see it properly. What was the reason? Maryanne you are doing SO well with the driving. It’s a different world there on the roads hey. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your journey home. It’s been a great 4 year adventure watching you drive around the world.

It is interesting but for us the journey is really the adventure .... maybe one day it will be high on our priorities but getting Trudy and ourselves safely across India was more important at that time for us 😉🚐🌺
