You are very welcome. It turns out that my friend Rich Davis just bought one as well, and had issues. So at this price point, quality control may be an issue-but with Amazon, you can just send instruments back until you get a good one.

Definitely an informative review. You ended up posting this review literally a day before I decided to pull the trigger on ordering one of these for a beginner Ukulele, as it was on sale for relatively cheap. I will definitely double down on your assumption that quality control may be an issue though. Everything was pretty good quality, though after about a week of play, the C string buzz/resonance started to become much more prominent, so I ended up putting in for a replacement after attempting basic troubleshooting. (Support suggested that the nut may have shifted slightly). The replacement came with different issues in the form of a couple uneven frets (10th and 13th on the A string, and 11th on the E string), but I ended up keeping the replacement anyway, as returning to Amazon in my area is kind of a hassle. I was able to fix the uneven frets with some careful sanding, but the replacement still has C string buzz/resonance. So if you happen to figure out what is causing it, I'd love to know. On both the original and replacement that I ordered, it didn't seem like the string was making contact with any frets, and I also noticed the buzz/resonance a bit more when playing the Am or F chords (I am very much a beginner though, so it could have been technique, but also nothing was making contact with the C string).

That’s four models of this series that have had issues. Rich Davis also had one. I think the answer here is to stay away from RockJam. I’m okay with an inexpensive ukulele having some finishing issues, using lower quality laminate, and having awful strings; buzzing and fret issues (uneven, in the wrong place, etc.) are just inexcusable..

You say you bought this in 2021 but put it aside until now. Rich Davis just ordered and received his this past week. His has a thin whitish binding, but it's only visible from the side, not the front (so I don't understand the point in adding it!). Unfortunately, his has an intonation problem, but he still recommends it otherwise.

I’m still trying to figure out what is buzzing on this ukulele; I may add it to the collection of ukuleles that my students check out at school to practice at home…it is important to play and inspect every RockJam in terms of quality control!
