What a stunning grouping - the art of positioning is [almost] perfected in these groupings. The new grouping is unbelievably spectacular and may end up being more iconic than the first. It is, in my limited knowledge, unique in style and is dynamic in a way I haven't seen before.

Yes, it bends a few rules, (such as trunks crossing). but was originally designed like that as a more natural composition. It is now re-born in a similar vein for years to come.

Another brilliant video. I'm sat in isolation following a very long surgery last week, and watching your straight forward no nonsense videos such as this really help to make my days pass. Many people don't appreciate the work involved in the production, but you are doing a great job, and my multiple recently collected yamadori potted in the aggregates I bought from greenwood are thriving. Can't wait to get them styled. Cheers Tony

Beautiful group planting. I hope that you got someone to gather cuttings from that which you cut off? You were casually throwing stuff on the floor whilst saying that it was difficult to get hold of that type of acer. I am waiting saying -"cutting, cutting, more cuttings!

It looks like it’s been trained to look like a single canopy having several trunks. Can you not get this to look like several individual trees as ‘forest’ suggests?
@greenwoodbonsaistudio
@greenwoodbonsaistudio 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, of course you can plant wider apart with less trees, but over 40 years they will grow together. If you look at single genus broadleaf forests in nature, they will grow to form a canopy just like this. Becoming one cohesive group made from single elements. Even then don't forget, bonsai is not about explicitly copying nature, but creating and artistic impression of it. Thats why it can be so diverse.
