I never thought I'd be sad to see that place torn down, I worked there for a while and my missus was working there until the night it closed for good. The Lymm Hotel, shame MacDonald ran it into the ground in order to make it easier to close down, also not all of the bathrooms were avocado - they were slowly refurbishing them ;)

With a shortage of homes wouldn't it had made more sense to conver the hotel into homes rather than destroy it?

Would be near impossible for it to meet modern building regulations if converted (you lose the grandfather rights when carry out conversation works) it's sad but much cheaper to start a fresh
